If you don't quite get the meaning of #UX, i.e. #UserExperience, this is the demonstration. Today, the #arts sector seems to lead with the immersive customer experience. And, it's equally fantastic when seen on a small or large screen. That's because we are now completely at home inside the digital experience. Yet, it is still difficult to create the UX on business #websites, one that will attract and compel to Action. User experience on a #smallbusiness website can be just a simple but unique graphic design (time for a refresh?); or an obsessive sharing of helpful #knowledge on a topic that matters to your customers; or #navigation that saves time and is delightful; or #CTAs that feel like a friend's invitation to a dinner, rather than a scary command. Like any good design, in #UX it's big thinking and the little things that make all the difference. Two things to consider here. One: this kind of UX doesn't happen in a vacuum but as a process of a superb understanding your customers, a business vision that goes beyond one #marketingcampaign, and then the #creative / #thoughtleadership work. Two: once a great, #evergreen experience has been created on your company website, it will generate a powerful momentum for growth.

Filmmaker, Journalist, Creative Entrepreneur | I create films, videos, and other multimedia about sciencey stuff.
A great visual representation of how the real and virtual worlds are merging. I'm curious what this holds for the future of cinema. Will we go to see "movies" in this kind of 360 immersive environment? Theaters have had surround sound for a long time, but what about "surround video"?

This is what I learned from several courses at the School of Museum Studies, University of Leicester #heritage and its concepts were constructed by the power or the majority. #museum is one of the powers. People believe that a museum is a valid knowledge institution. Hence, whatever the museum puts on display is a trustworthy statement. Museum play a significant role in declaring both tangible & intangible heritage. Thus, it is essential for a museum to have experts and professionals who are related to the museum, collections, and its mission. Museum needs to act ethically and professionally as public trust the institution as a knowledge centre. https://lnkd.in/gnfeDB-a

Always remember to incorporate physical actors / interpreters / guides (or whatever denomination you prefer) in your attractions / destinations / museums / visitor centres / hotels & restaurants / real estate promotions / fairs / cultural delegations / shopping centre or outlet events / embassy events / university student recruitment / university staff recruitment / international trade fairs etc etc etc. They will be your BEST SALES PEOPLE EVER as they sell the dream. If you have been mandated to undertake responsibility for one of the above, it would be difficult to justify doing otherwise in the current environment! From Las Vegas through luxury retail kilometre destinations to the creme de la creme of international universities, palaces and religious institutions, all are ramping up their interpretation staff portfolios in 2024. There is a reason for this! Every Euro / Dollar / Pound spent on these people results in an enormously higher return than what is spent on digital media. The impact made during some of the historic recreation events can be intergenerational and life-changing. Try replicating that with social media! Social media has a role but that role is extremely junior, subsidiary and complementary to real-world reenactment and interpretation. Visitors at all price points are DESPERATE for real-world non-digital interaction! When your investors or their consultants turn up at your attraction to check out what is going on on the ground, their ABSOLUTE NUMBER ONE priority is to check our real world visitor engagement, not digital engagement. Never lose sight of this!
Great day at the museum with Black Knight Historical! #WDLM

The Royal Museum for Central Africa (or "#AfricaMuseum") in #Belgium reopened its doors in 2018 after closing its doors for a 5-year extensive "#decolonisation" process. Part of this initial incarnation involved an introductory exhibition called "Sidelined", in which a number of objects from its former displays now considered to be "problematic" were placed in a room for public scrutiny and reflection. Unfortunately, the exhibition did not have the intended transformative impact on its audience, and ultimately the entire concept was abandoned. The colonial-era sculptures were instead moved to a separate space, where they can only be visited with a guide. I originally made this presentation in 2022 when "Sidelined" was still on display. In it I critique the delivery of the original exhibition and offer suggestions for how the intended #decolonial impact might have been better conveyed on an audience unfamiliar to reflecting critically on colonial structures. I steadfastly do not believe that the way to decolonise the mind is to tell it explicitly what to think, and I do not believe that hiding these historically popular problematic objects away outside of a carefully monitored gaze is going to facilitate decolonial unlearning. Systemic #racism and racialised #injustice will only ever be confronted out in the open, and I truly believe that through these "problematic objects" the Royal Museum for Central Africa has in its possession the tools to be able to lay the colonial imagination bare and rid it of its power, in the hands of the African diaspora.
