🚀 Is Hiring for Talent and Potential the Way Forward? 🚀 Lately, I've been thinking about the whole idea of the "perfect fit" in hiring. In finance, we're often on the lookout for candidates who tick all the boxes. But maybe, just maybe, we should shift our focus a bit. There's something to be said for hiring people with raw talent and genuine passion. They bring fresh perspectives and energy, sparking innovation and driving the team forward in unexpected ways. What if we started hiring for potential? These are the people who might not have every qualification yet but are eager to learn and grow. Investing in their development could mean big returns for the company down the line. When you build a team based on diverse talents and potential, you get adaptability and resilience. It’s exciting to see how different strengths come together to create something greater. Personally, I always try to share this perspective with my clients. Don’t get hung up on job titles! Could you be missing out on a great opportunity simply because it doesn't have the title you want? I've lost count of the amount of people I’ve spoken to recently that have difficult considering roles at first purely because of the job title. However, after speaking it through, most soon realise the title wasn’t important in anyway and didn’t actually mean much. Instead, after really delving deep into what they’re looking for, the most important things were: 👉 What the role offers – opportunities/development 👉 The culture of the business If that all feels right then is it an opportunity you can miss? Of course there’s times where the role doesn’t end up being right for them regardless.
