Interested in why we went with Panasonic for our camera chains? Check out this article from Panasonic themselves detailing how the final decision was made, and what sets them apart!
💬 “Prior to building our studio, called The HUB, we had never really thought about owning serious cameras. However, once the studio gained some traction we started to consider our options of which broadcast cameras to buy. Since our experience was based primarily in live events, we researched and discussed our options with those we knew in our industry and that we trusted. This led to us putting the #Panasonic UC4000s at the top of our list and once we tested them and saw the pictures, we knew they were the right cameras for us.” - explained Jeremy Koch, Director from Innovative Production Services on their investment into 4K One Truck. 🔗 Read more on #SVG: https://lnkd.in/gAj3nmfR

Get Early Access to the BURANO with Sony’s Online Menu Simulator https://ift.tt/oSIbciP Already one of the most exciting cameras to be released here in 2024, Sony is continuing their slow and steady approach to building hype for the upcoming BURANO cinema camera. Not that we needed little features and teases like these to be released, but Sony continues to entice us even further into excitement as they introduce another cool new feature for the BURANO. Since being announced back in September, and with hands-on reviews already going up, Sony also now shared a new online menu simulator for the BURANO. As a free tool, anyone can navigate through the menu system as they become acquitted with what will surely be one of Sony’s most popular cameras ever. Let’s take a look at this interactive menu system tool and explore what it can teach us about the BURANO before its wide release later this year. Sony BURANO Online Menu Simulator While not the first brand to release an online menu simulator, Sony’s new interactive system does look like it could be a very helpful tool for those looking to familiarize themselves with the BURANO layout and controls for the camera. In this menu simulator, users will be able to navigate through all of the menus and test out workflows for how they might want to change camera settings using the various touchscreen controls. You can also use the LCD buttons and even simulate the physical buttons found on the camera body. You can also get a head start on downloading all of the BURANO recording formats and recording time posters to get you ready to go with the BURANO on day one. It’s worth noting too that Sony also offers menu simulators for both the VENICE and the VENICE 2 as well, plus other brands like ARRI have virtual training modules for their own cameras. Getting Started With the Sony BURANO As we covered before, Sony has also already dropped a series of tutorials that can take you through everything you’d need to know about getting started with the BURANO. You can follow the series here, or check out some of the YouTube videos below. Sony BURANO Specs and Availability As mentioned before, the BURANO is still set to release here in the spring of 2024. The new Panasonic Lumix GH7 will have Arri LogC3! The camera is priced at $2,197, with an additional $200 for the license to use Arri Log. The “Arri Look” is the industry standard! Previously, you’d have to shell out $50,000 or more for this quality, and renting is expensive AF. An Arri Alexa LF rents for $2,500 per day. That's usually the entire budget for my micro-budget short films. This is groundbreaking! I wonder if, since Nikon just purchased Red, they will do the same and license Red Raw for their mirrorless cameras. The camera market is more affordable than ever, and the quality gap is closing. Indie filmmakers, this is our time! Go out and make your movie! https://lnkd.in/eytg8Md4

My key takeaways from #NAB2024: For those who don't know, NAB Show is the premier tech and gear conference for the film industry. Here's my list of notable trends from this year's event: 1) Anamorphic is not a trend. It's here to stay. From Blazar's extremely compact Cato 2x to Laowa's relatively affordable new S35 nanomorph line to Atlas coming out with an unbelievable 18mm 2x, there are more incredible visual tools to tell stories in anamorphic formats than ever before. Bring on the lens flares! 2) Tripod elitism is finally coming to an end. Smallrig and Tilta, both brands historically known for great products that undercut industry-standard prices have stepped into the cinema tripod scene. Tilta's CT12 and Smallrig's collaboration with Potato Jet promise to provide the same level of professional use for a fraction of the price of traditional counter-balanced tripods. The CT12 supports up to 26.5 lbs and is barely over $1k with carbon legs. Game changing. 3) Wireless video monitoring for the masses. The new Teradek Ace 750 should be a treasure on smaller commercial and doc sets. With a simple HDMI input/output, the option of client monitoring just opened up to a whole new market of cinematographers that don't have consistent access to kit with SDI ports (Sony FX3, Canon C70, Sony A7SIII, etc.) The unit itself is also small and light, giving more options for video monitoring on more cameras, in more environments. Atomos also gave us a look at the Ninja Phone, allowing any iphone to be used as an effective HDMI cinema monitor. Great flexibility for doc filmmakers who have to pack light. Also, social media creators can directly record off a cinema camera to their phone. My first thought: imagine an Instagram livestream in the dark with a Sony FX3 using the dual-base ISO! 4) Audio ecosystems are getting cleaner. New Deity products such as the PR2, S-Mic 3, and DXTX are built to work with each other for different purposes on set. Syncing and monitoring audio has never been easier for a solo-operator, especially when you need to use multiple lavs and booms on set at one time. Also, from a documentary perspective...A wireless boom?! Sign me up.

Duvo™ 14-100mm is a native PL-mount portable zoom lens that delivers 7.1x zoom, covering 14-100mm, a focal range that is frequently used on set. The use of the built-in expander1 shifts the focal length by 1.5 times to 21-150mm, allowing users to capture even the most expansive environments. At 10.5 inches long (266.9mm) and 5.8 pounds (2.65kg), Duvo™ 14-100mm is compact and lightweight, making it easily portable for all types of live production. It is fully compatible with FUJINON portable broadcast lens zoom and focus demands, and can be shoulder-operated, used on a Steadicam2, or remotely operated from a crane when an extremely high-angle point of view is needed. Like all Duvo™ Series lenses, Duvo™ 14-100mm’s Dual Format construction brings next-level flexibility to any production with its built-in 1.5x expander. Engage it to easily expand the lens’s image circle to cover Large Format digital image sensors, or leave it disengaged for use with Super 35 sensors to work with almost any digital cinema, or broadcast, single sensor camera. Duvo™ 14-100mm boasts a T-stop of T2.9 at the wide end (14mm), making it ideal for low-light concerts, nighttime events, or house of worship production environments that want a shallow depth of field, cinematic bokeh, and Fujinon’s legendary optical engineering.
