Being proactive rather than reactive is a lot easier said than done. I think back to 2021 when brokers were having an extremely difficult time finding capacity. Many wished they had started planning for better ways to reuse carriers and cover more loads in 2019 when the market was soft. Today it's a similar story. Brokers spent 2021 and 2022 solving for the urgent problems and many didn't focus on sales training, rating intelligence, etc. Now they're trying to patch the holes while the boat is slowly sinking. Problem is, most of these fixes don't take effect with a snap of the fingers. I'm not going to use company names because I don't want to publicly slander anyone but it is comical to me how bad some of these digital freight brokers are at moving freight. Saw one of them have a load that I recognize from a mutual customer posted on a public load board. It's flatbed, has a ton of special requirements, pick & delivery appointments are always terrible, takes a year to load at the shipper, etc. We've never really paid any less than $1,100 for it in the past year (and trust me, we've tried). These guys have had it rotting on the load board for 3 days at $550 and in the notes it just says "FAK" for the commodity type...hilarious. Technology is an important part of running a transportation business in 2024 but to attempt to completely replace the experts that understand all the nuances is a huge mistake in my opinion. #logistics #technology #digitalfreightbroker #trucking #peopleoversoftware #sorrytechbros #supplychain #3PL #truckload #freightmarket

Over the past 18 months, Michael Sternberg and I have had the privilege of working with a group of our customers with years of experience in this market segment. From the start of this build, our goal was to create one of the most user-friendly consolidation platforms on the market. We believe we did just that. Phase 1 of this product will be moved to production in the upcoming weeks.
