Could you elaborate on the metrics that program directors use to evaluate research contributions/experience? Amongst most IMGs aspiring for USMLE, there's an almost compulsive need to be involved in research, to spruce up their match application. Some applicants may boast about 50+ publications (with majority being reviews, commentaries, letters to the editor) while for some it just may be 3 hard earned original articles. So, I guess my question is- what really matters in research?
