Many of my clients are invited to do 15 minutes of Yin Yoga a day for 14 days, based on experimental research that it reduces the production of the stress chemical adrenomedullin, created during periods of stress, anxiety or low mood. It’s also hoped that starting the yoga journey will inspire them to explore a deeper understanding that a yoga lifestyle can be life changing if the timing is right, leading to a renewed sense of emotional wellbeing and better mental health. 5 Points of Yoga – Swami Vishnu-Devandanda Asanas- Movement Pranayama- Proper Breathing Savasana- Deep Relaxation Proper Diet- Pure (Sattvic) foods Vedanta- Positive Thinking Dhyana- Meditation instagram: @drangelamooney

Why yoga is your answer to peak mental and physical health…. The most important part about yoga is the mindfulness, it's the breathing. It is greatly beneficial for parasympathetic up regulation. This parasympathetic activation is needed as a tool for stress reduction. Stress reduction is widely emphasised because it helps with the pain feedback loop - Pain perception. I’m not saying pain gets any comfortable, but the tolerance, identification, and source of pain is better understood. Therefore, you can work better with this awareness of your body, by picking up hints from your body. Yoga also helps with range of motion, strength, Feeling of confidence and eventually, you gain the control of your body again. I think this is a strong enough “why” for your question- why yoga? If you have practiced yoga, you probably heard of the word “Prana,” which in Sanskrit means “life-force energy.” Prana refers to the life energy, the fuel that makes us get out of bed, enables us to act and have a presence in the world. The closest neuroscientific correspondence of Prana is the Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS), more commonly and mistakenly known as the “fight or flight” system. While presence and perception of threats certainly activate the SNS, SNS' main purpose is to enable us to act, to talk, to connect, to protect ourselves and to perform. Wouldn’t it be cool to measure your Prana and get a glimpse of how your nervous system is responding to your daily life? Below is a screenshot of my Neurosmart recording during my morning yoga session. The giant peaks correspond to the repeated vinyasa flow sequences, while the beautiful relaxation is the child’s pose that came right after. Yoga is a wonderful practice that balances the nervous system through sequences of activating and relaxing asanas. You cannot have a big relaxation response without a big activation. Neurosmart is now available for individual leasing. What activities fuel you? What activities deplete your Prana? Neurosmart enables a more conscious life by offering insights into your own nervous system’s response to the world. #autonomicnervoussystem #prana #yoga #mindfulness

It starts with observation, just like balancing the body. A bit of focus to ensure that we don't over or under do it. - Can you balance your mind? Super-duper hard if we don't ever try. When we show up for yoga and meditation, it gets easier. The mind stops being your enemy, (most of the time.) See you in any way you can join us! Sometimes, we forget to pause and take care of ourselves. But here's something cool about yoga - it's not just about looking good in those poses. It's about feeling good, from the inside out. Research says yoga helps us chill out, gets our blood flowing better, and even keeps our immune system strong. Whether it’s a nagging pain, feeling anxious, or just needing to shake off stress, yoga's got something for everyone. Yoga’s like a friend there for you, no matter what. You don’t have to be super flexible or know all the poses. It’s all about showing up, breathing, and moving in a way that feels good to you. It’s about those little moments where you feel connected. Your breath is syncing with your movements. That feeling of getting stronger and more centred with each pose. It’s about being here, in the now, and finding peace in the quiet. Healing isn't always about fixing things. Sometimes, it’s about finding what makes us feel calm and strong. Yoga gives us that space. It’s a way to explore, heal, and find balance. If you’ve been thinking about trying yoga or looking for a sign to get back into it, this is it. 🧘 Yoga is more than exercise. It’s a tool for feeling better, inside and out. #yoga #foodyoga #wellbeing #healing

🧘♂️ The Power of Yoga-Tantra for Shadow Integration 🌓 In the practice of Yoga-Tantra, we find a powerful pathway to stabilise the ego and delve into the depths of the unconscious mind, the shadow. This ancient wisdom offers a unique approach to managing and integrating our darker, more instinctive forces. Stabilising the Ego The first step in this transformative journey is to create a stable foundation for the ego. In our everyday lives, the ego plays a crucial role in helping us navigate the world, manage our responsibilities, and maintain our sense of self. Through practices such as meditation, breathwork, and asanas, Yoga-Tantra helps us to ground and strengthen the ego, providing a solid platform from which to explore the deeper layers of our psyche. Diving into the Unconscious With a stable ego, we can safely springboard into the unconscious mind, where our shadow resides. The shadow encompasses the aspects of ourselves that we have repressed or denied, often because they are deemed unacceptable or uncomfortable. Yoga-Tantra teaches us to face these hidden parts with courage and compassion, transforming fear into understanding and acceptance. Connecting with the Divine Elements As we navigate the shadow, Yoga-Tantra guides us to connect with the divine elements within. This connection fosters a sense of safety and support, enabling us to manage and integrate our darker forces without feeling overwhelmed. By embracing both light and shadow, we move towards greater self-awareness and wholeness. Integrating the Shadow The integration of the shadow is a profound process of self-discovery and healing. It allows us to reclaim lost aspects of our personality, enhancing our emotional resilience and enriching our spiritual journey. Through continuous practice and self-reflection, we learn to harmonise the conflicting parts of ourselves, leading to a more balanced and authentic existence. Embrace Your Whole Self Yoga-Tantra offers a transformative approach to personal growth by addressing both the light and dark aspects of our being. By stabilising the ego and exploring the shadow, we unlock the potential for deep healing and spiritual evolution. Embrace your whole self and discover the divine within your shadow.
