China is determined not to relinquish its leading position in the electric vehicle (EV) battery market, especially in light of significant advancements in solid-state battery technology being made in other parts of the world. Recently, media reports revealed that GEELY's CEO Gan Jiayue internally disclosed the progress of Geely's #allSolidState battery research and development during the mid-year management conference. It is understood that Geely's self-developed full solid-state battery has achieved an energy density of #400Wh/kg, and the battery cell preparation has been completed with a capacity of #20AH, potentially becoming the first to be announced, mass-produced, and installed in vehicles. Geely has long had a presence in the solid-state battery field, and according to previous media reports, China may invest approximately 6 billion yuan in full solid-state battery research and development. Among the six enterprises that may receive government support for basic research and development, Geely is one of them. The other five enterprises are CATL, BYD, FAW, SAIC, and Weilan New Energy.
