Need Leads? / Modified 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STi at No Reserve: This 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STi is a Canadian-market example that was acquired by the seller in 2013, and the replacement turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four is said to have been subsequently modified with Wiseco Race pistons, Manley rods and bearings, ARP head studs, and an ETS rotated turbo kit with a Garrett GTX turbocharger. Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle, and a blue vinyl wrap has been applied over the paintwork. Additional modifications include a front-mount intercooler, an ETS downpipe, a Tomei exhaust system, a Turbosmart external wastegate, 18" SSR wheels, Bilstein coilovers, Whiteline rear control arms, a VIS Racing carbon-fiber hood, and an aftermarket head unit. Porsche 356 B 1600 GS Carrera GTL Abarth Coupe (Type 756) To remain competitive in racing, Porsche looked for outside help to build 20 lightweight aluminum bodies for the standard 356B chassis. Porsche chose to work with Carlo Abarth who previously assisted as a middleman almost 10 years back in the Porsche-Cisitalia project. Carlo enlisted the help of Franco Scaglione for design, and Rocco Motto to build the new lightweight bodies. When the first GTL (L for lightweight) arrived in Germany a few modifications need to be made. The front wing openings had to be enlarged to allow full steering lock and the cars overheating was cured by adding additional vents to the engine lid. The Carrera GTL’s were fitted with type 692/3 and 692/3A variations of the 4 cam engine. Three power levels were offered for the Carrera GTL: -           115hp with standard exhaust -           128hp with sports exhaust -           135hp with Sebring exhaust Adjustment of the pair of Weber 40 DCM 2 twin-choke carburettors was specific for each exhaust variant. #porsche #classiccars #automotivehistoric #classiccars #passion

Royalty - the Stirling Moss Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR! When it comes to legendary cars, the list has some of the most iconic machines ever conceived by man. And this is no exception. Stirling Moss piloted this 300 SLR to victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia. He blasted across the Italian country side, finishing the race in 10 hours 7 minutes and 53 seconds, at an average speed of 97.96mph. A record that will never been broken. The "722" that adorns the car, depicts the time he left and has become a moniker on special editions of Mercedes models since. Now here it is, decades later in London. A public outing. Powering the 300 SLR is the engine out of the W196 Formula 1 car, bored & stroked from 2.5L to 3.0L. It is a straight-8 making a peak of 310hp with 296lb-ft of torque (290hp sustained). The valves & mechanical direct fuel injection from the V12 in the Messerschmitt fighter was also used. Sir Stirling Moss described the car as "The greatest sports racing car ever built, really an unbelievable machine.". Only 9 were made in total, two of which special hybrid prototypes. These two were named the Uhlenhaut Coupés, after Rudolf Uhlenhaut.
