We are happy to have three SMU graduates who was part of the Mapletree Real Estate Programme (MREP) start their professional journeys at Mapletree. They were part of a programme designed to build future real estate industry leaders, enabling participants to embark on a journey of learning and industry experience. One of the graduates shared, "The programme provided hands-on knowledge and exposure to real-life applications, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills." Consultant, Real Estate Advisor, Adjunct Professor, Career Coach, Chief Engagement Officer, Georgia Tech graduate.
Today’s thankful and thriving Thursday is dedicated to everyone who participated in Stone Mountain High School’s Career Exploration Day! I want to give a huge shout-out to Sydney Matheny, Asst. Project Manager from HITT Contracting and Sherle Brown of the Real Estate Career Academy and UGA for joining me to promote careers in real estate. Sherle, Sydney, and I shared that our industry has more than 500,000 open positions ranging from A to Z including construction and property management. I was so encouraged by these motivated students eager to join the workforce. Did you or a team member spend time in a classroom this week? If not, why not? Are you simply relying on your recruiting team to sift through inbound inquiries or are you willing to get in the classroom and fire these students up for opportunities in your company? Think of a person who invested in you. Knowledge doesn’t simply come out of a book, it comes through experience. The best way to harvest the best and the brightest is to be with them on the front line in the classroom. Long-term success happens organically. Plant. Cultivate. Harvest. Get thirsty for new talent and tune into classrooms! #RECA #experientiallearning #staythirsty #RPMCareers #CTAE #CareerPathways

Join us in welcoming Llyr Morris, our new Development and Planning Manager, eager to drive and accelerate project progress. Llyr joins our team with a solid foundation in planning strategies, motivated to collaborate with Registered Social Landlords to facilitate much-needed social housing. We asked Llyr to introduce himself🗣️ What does your role involve? 🗨️I'm the Development and Planning Manager at Castell Group. My primary responsibility is to manage development projects through the Welsh Planning System to help Castell Group achieve its ambitious development targets. What is your professional background? 🗨️I worked as a Planning Consultant for four and a half years. Following that, I moved to an RSL to work as a Development Officer for three years. Both roles have prepared me well for my current position at Castell Group, which involves a mix of planning and collaboration with Housing Associations. What qualities do you hope to bring to Castell? 🗨️I aim to bring my planning expertise to the team and help navigate the increasingly complex Welsh planning system efficiently. Many developments face delays due to planning issues, and my goal is to identify and address these promptly to expedite project progress. I also hope to use my experience of working within a Housing Association to ensure that the developments are of high quality and meet all relevant housing standards. What’s your favourite part about your job role? 🗨️My favourite aspect is identifying exciting new opportunities and collaborating with Housing Associations to provide much-needed social housing. #newstarter #development #construction #castellcareers

At Harbourfront Wealth Management we prioritize a culture of innovation and growth, making it the ideal place for advisors who are passionate about advancing their careers. David Eng one of our dedicated advisors, shares why he chose to join us: “I ultimately came to the decision on Harbourfront for a lot of reasons. I liked the culture of growth that fit very well with me because I’m still trying to grow. And so you want to be with an innovative and growth-oriented company, not with a company that doesn’t have the same mindset. You really do get that feeling that the advisors do come first.” Join a firm where your growth is our priority. That's exactly how we all feel, ie who was it who made this disastrous final decision? It's like trying to imagine the identity of the burglar who broke into your house and stole your valuables and ate food from your fridge. But history shows it's rarely the unilateral decision of a single individual divorced from a storm of social, economic and cultural forces. That said, there should a coalition of forces that stop this happening. #housing #affordablehousing #urbanplanning
The saga continues. If anyone knows the person or groups responsible for this outcome, please let me know. I'd really like to understand their motivations. Did they all had prospering careers in the tinned fish industry and then decided to try something else? Any useful links to a 'history of modern Australian suburbs'? Or is one needed, so we can better understand how we got here and start to change where we're heading?

Planning controls need to be smarter defining support spaces and landscape.
