We are pleased to announce the finalists for the 2024 IISE DAIS Best Student Paper Award from a pool of excellent submissions that were carefully reviewed by the referees. The finalists will present their work in the IISE DAIS Best Student Paper Competition. The winner will be announced during the IISE DAIS Town Hall. The papers are (In alphabetical order):   Asymptotic Behavior of Adversarial Training Estimator under l∞ Perturbation by Yiling Xie (Georgia Institute of Technology), Xiaoming Huo.   Boosting Discriminability of Transferable Features in Unsupervised Domain Adaptation by Abdur Rahman (Mississippi State University), Mohammad Marufuzzaman, and Haifeng Wang.   Optimal Sensor Allocation for Emission Source Detection with Linear Atmospheric Dispersion Processes by Xinchao Liu (Georgia Institute of Technology), Dzung Phan, Youngdeok Hwang, Levente Klein, Kyongmin Yeo, and Xiao Liu.   One Step Beyond Linear: An Integrated Prediction-and-Optimization Framework with Rectified-Linear Objectives by Haoran Guo (Tsinghua University), Meng Qi, Wei Qi.

The final CTRP SIG presentation was the symposium "But What the Heck Is a Theoretical and Conceptual Framework?", lead by Dr. Justina Ogodo. 💫 Poster presentation at the end of secondment 💫 Our DC3 Nikhila A Chandran from Radboud University finished her secondment at Nicolaus Copernicus University under the supervision of Piotr Żuchowski and Tijs Karman. #OpenResearchData #ORD #OpenScience NEWLY OPENED CALL: "ORD Funding for Existing Research Infrastructures of Strategic Relevance" This call welcomes project proposals that aim to promote ORD either by introducing a new ORD element or by further developing an ORD component in existing research infrastructures.    The call is part of Measure B3 of the National ORD Action Plan, which targets the consolidation and strategic development of the Swiss ORD landscape with regard to infrastructures and services of foremost national relevance. Well it's not everyday you get called one of the "UK's best scientific minds" and it has been very hard to keep this quiet for so long!
