It offers an opportunity for our veteran teammates to brush up on their skills and for them to teach our newest team members how we roll at Together & Company! During these trainings, we review how to run an efficient two-handed serve, tray service, loading and unloading delivery vans, setting tables, bussing tables, and more. By refining our serving skills, it means that from how we set your table to how dishes get cleared and tables are cleaned – We’re more likely to leave you feeling even better than when you arrived at your event. And by hosting these trainings, we leave our Team better than when they walked in (although they were pretty spectacular to start). Everyone wins 💛 Go team!

When I started Big Fish Training 23 years ago, I thought I’d be doing well if I could run one training course a month. It was just me back then. Yesterday Big Fish training ran four courses on the same day covering specialist writing skills, giving feedback, leadership & management and influence & persuasion. I think I might finally be a grown-up with a proper company! Obviously I didn’t do all of them. These days I’m surrounded by an incredible team of people, all of whom can take their share of the credit for the organisation that Big Fish Training is today. I’m super grateful to Lisa Turner and Tammy Barter (Cooksley) who make sure that things run smoothly and to our fab team of trainers. Thank you. I don’t intend this to come across in a self-congratulatory way. I write it because we’re all busy doing stuff and then working out what the next job is or looking for the next problem. We’re so wrapped up in what we need to DO that we don’t celebrate what we’ve DONE. So, if you’ve read this – thank you – but also please stop! And think about what you can celebrate this week. Our colleague Piotr Lichwała just experienced an unforgettable week of gliding training; his excitement is contagious! 🌟 Picture this: over 14 hours a day in the summer heat, with more than 50 take-offs and landings. 🛫✨ 💚 From running between gliders to connecting winch lines and driving across the airfield, Piotrek embraced every moment of this adventure. He also bonded with an incredible team of people who made the experience even more memorable. 💚 What’s interesting is how gliding mirrors some essential skills we use in our daily work: 🤝 Teamwork 🤝: Gliding is a team effort. Success hinges on everyone playing their part, from the ground crew to the pilot. Without everyone’s contribution, the glider wouldn’t leave the ground. 📡 Clear Communication 📡: Communication is key, whether it’s through walkie-talkies, direct conversation, or hand signals. Understanding each other, sometimes without words, ensures smooth operations. 🧑🏫 Mentorship and Learning 🧑🏫: Experienced pilots eagerly share their knowledge, guiding and supporting newcomers. This culture of openness and responsibility is crucial for safe and effective training.
