With an eye on ocean health, Garmin’s EMEA marine segment director, Pontus Fernstrom, outlines the steps the company is taking to reduce its environmental impact. “If we don’t do this, there might not be nice water to be in in a few years,” Fernstrom says of Garmin’s efforts to shrink its footprint while expanding its operations through multiple acquisitions. He highlights the company’s packaging improvements, noting a “drastic” reduction in plastic use and the elimination of 90 per cent of foam within product boxes.
