So this is a great thing happening to people looking for a job: Today I got my second email from "Jessica Chase" (email sankarsubhash274@gmail.com) for a "shipping agent" position in New York. The first email went into detail about a remote Assistant Manager position at "their company" (whose name is never mentioned). "There is no requirement for any upfront financial investment or payment of start-up fees. This is a home-based part-time position with $3500 monthly compensation. As soon as three month period is over, the salary will be increased for 30 percent more + we will provide employment benefits." The candidate is "requited" to have permanent mailing address, access to a reliable internet connection and a possession of a functional printer and the job entails inspecting packages for quality and accuracy, preparing packages for shipment and recording/documenting parcels information. There's also a PS: "It's funny, but my parents first met in New York about thirty years ago :)" The second email reiterated the first but added "Did you receive my message about shipping agent position?" and changed the PS to "By coincidence my mother's family name was Kalet before she met my father." REEEEEEAAAAALLLLLYYYYY... What would be the possible scam here? I'm guessing it has to do with the "no requirement for any upfront financial investment or payment of start-up fees" which implies they're coming later. Fun, right?

Got one from “ranzykay5709@yahoo.com” which had a slightly different pitch: We are pleased to offer you the remote, FT status of Logistics agent at RCR Group INC. We believe that your skillsets and abilities make you an excellent match for our organization, and we're delighted to have you join us.

I remember early on in my career when I was first let go from my job working in the TV industry but with a healthy dose of IT work, I was looking for gig work on Craigslist and one opportunity came up that was a 6 month contract job to re-image and/or upgrade a bunch of PCs from Windows 7 to Windows 10. They were very quick to reply and seemed legit. I provided my resume which had my home address on it and after a week or so, a check with my name on it showed up but from a company I had never heard of in Gig Harbor (a town about 45 minutes south of me). Come to find it was this job I was thinking was legit scamming some other legitimate company's bank account that would eventually get flagged and come back to bite me if I had cashed it. After that, Craigslist was no longer an option for me.

How frustrating, Mark! I'm so sorry to hear that you're getting spammed. Got this crazy text today out of the blue. It must be part of a booming new scammer business.🫤

Mark! I just googled her email just to do my own research also and found your post. Here’s a screenshot of what she sent me. I actually responded with telling her I wanted to have further conversation and information about the role lol.

Cool! You can start an exciting new career as a "fence"! Oddly enough this might be illegitimately legitimate. Or legitimately illegitimate.
