Balkan Mining and Minerals has returned more wide, visual spodumene from the Koshman pegmatites at the Gorge Lithium Project. Eight of ten holes have now intersected visible spodumene and come among several pegmatite occurrences as Balkan continue its march the potential of a substantial lithium deposit and full Ontario ownership. “The consistent spodumene mineralisation encountered in the initial drill testing of the Koshman pegmatite occurrence is extremely encouraging and we can’t wait to receive assay results which we hope will validate our theory that Gorge has the potential to become a substantial lithium deposit. With the last completed hole intersecting some 17m of visual spodumene, it appears that we’re getting better results as we go along so we’re hoping that the best of this program is yet ahead of us” – BMM Managing Director Ross Cotton Luke Martino Karl Simich Sean Murray Lucas Robinson Corporate Storytime #Exploration #Commodities #Lithium 📰 Subscribe to MarketOpen Insights! 🗞 https://lnkd.in/g7qSSk8m

Since Kombat’s rebirth, geologists were eyeing significant surface mineralisation at an area about 15km east of the active mining licence and the historic mining town of Kombat. The area was known as Schlangental, a key prospect within the wider Kombat property. According to Jed Richardson, Trigon’s CEO and Executive Chairman, there were reports of historical drilling that indicated mineralisation continued at depth, but no cores or detailed logs were available. Trigon started planning to drill more than 36 holes totalling 4000m in the area they refer to as the Copper King Extension. The first two holes have now been drilled at Schlangental, and both holes intercepted mineralisation at modest depths. The mineralisation was largely chalcocite (sulfide) and malachite (oxide) with associated higher-than-average silver compared to the main mineral resource at the Kombat mine and compared to the bornite and chalcopyrite copper sulfides predominant at the Kombat mine. “Given the encouraging start, deeper drilling will now be undertaken to confirm if this pattern continues in the new area,” says Richardson. Sierra Nevada Gold Chases Silver Potential at Blackhawk Project in Nevada (ASX: SNX) Executive Chairman Peter Moore commented: “These results which returned up to 1270 g/t silver from Blackhawk are very promising, coming from a vast and extensive vein network. We’ve identified 22.5-line kilometres of veins at Blackhawk, but this known mineralisation has sat largely untouched since mining ceased in the area in the 1920s. We have two shallow oxide resources which have not been defined to a JORC-compliant level but this provides us the opportunity to deliver value from an existing project with further drilling and mineral resource definition.” “Our 20-hole drill program is permitted and ready to drill, providing us with the opportunity to use modern exploration techniques to potential to return further high-grade results and shape this as a company-making discovery for Sierra Nevada.” Read our article below: https://lnkd.in/gH3fJfG6 #silver #mining #exploration #nevada #asx

via Mining.com.au Firetail Resources has found evidence of a porphyry system as it restarts diamond drilling program at its Picha #Copper Project in Peru. The company expects #drilling to be completed in March 2024, with assays anticipated to be rolled out regularly during the remainder of the campaign. To date, #FTL has completed the first drillhole at its Fundicion target which provides evidence of a porphyry system. The mineralisation uncovered includes silver, bornite, covellite, and chalcopyrite together with ‘significant’ quartz veining and alteration. Samples have been sent to the laboratory for analysis. Great Western Mining Corp PLC discovers substantial area of anomalous gold at M5 prospect in the Jack Springs ➡ Over 1 km long trend of anomalous gold (greater than 10 ppb Au) ➡ Several continuous zones of higher grade (greater than 25 ppb Au) #GWMO Great Western Chairman Brian Hall commented: "These new results over the M5 prospect on the Jack Springs claims have identified another strong target for exploration on the Great Western claims. We are seeing the benefits of intensive and continuous geological field work over the spring, summer and autumn of this year and are very excited by the laboratory results at a number of prospects. The results of this field work, together with the indications of a possible copper porphyry at the Huntoon Copper Project, announced on 16 November and with the potential to dwarf the existing resource already established at the nearby M2 claims, underline our belief in the great potential of our 60 km² of claims in the prolific Walker Lane Belt of Nevada." https://lnkd.in/dYCT3vaC

MetalsGrove Mining Ltd (ASX:MGA) has turned its attention to the Edwards Creek Copper-Zinc Project in the Northern Territory, which the company believes is prospective for a scalable copper-zinc system. The strategic shift in project focus comes after a site visit to MetalsGrove’s Zimbabwe Lithium Projects by MGA board members, who determined neither the Arcturas Project nor Arcadia Project had demonstrated strong enough lithium results to continue exploration. In contrast, a site visit to Edwards Creek only strengthened the company’s confidence in its potential, validating existing collar locations and highlighting the potential of the geology present there. Previous drilling has revealed strongly altered volcanic massive sulphide mineralisation, grading up to 4.5 metres at 2.25% #copper and 1.54% #zinc from 47.5 metres of depth. St George Mining Ltd (ASX:SGQ) has intersected a significant clay-hosted rare earth elements (REE) system described as “ground-breaking” at the Destiny Project in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. REE mineralisation up to 5,125 parts per million (ppm) total rare earth oxide (TREO) was unearthed in a near-surface clay zone during a maiden drilling program at the project originally called Woolgangie. Assay results received for drilling covering a 7-kilometre-long strike commencing in September showed high-grade TREO of more than 500 ppm in 42 of the 61 drill holes, hosted in zones up to 42 metres thick. In addition to REE, St George is also mapping and sampling pegmatites for #lithium in an area adjacent to Neometals’ Spargos Project, where minerals such as spodumene have been reported. Sayona Mining Limited (SYA-ASX; OTC:SYAXF) Moblan Drilling Reveals Further High-Grade Intersections On June 13, 2024, Sayona reported results from 34 new drillholes totalling 7,853m at its Moblan Lithium Project demonstrating the potential of a single, large continuous orebody. Recall Sayona had disclosed on May 27, 2024, results from 94 new drillholes totalling 20,735m (https://lnkd.in/dsTU93RW). The Moblan Lithium Project is located ~85km from the Cree (First Nations) community of Mistissini and is located within just 300 m of the Route du Nord. These latest results include up to: 41.8m @ 1.44% Li2O from 206.2m in drillhole 1331-23-515 and 40m @ 1.37% Li2O from 253m in drillhole 1331-23-516 on the New South Pegmatites (East); 39.55m @ 1.63% Li2O from 38m in drillhole 1331-23-678 on the New South Pegmatites (West); and 44.95m @ 1.56% Li2O from 81.05m in drillhole 1331-23-689 and 46.75m @ 1.49% Li2O from 197.35m in drillhole 1331-23-689 on the Moleon Pegmatites. The new drilling results illustrate the potential connection between the Main, South, New South, Inter and Moleon sectors within a single extensive lithium mineralised system and shall potentially have a positive impact on the geological continuities of an updated mineral resource estimate. The footprint of the Moblan mineralised system now extends over ~2.3km E-W, ~1.2km N-S and to depth of ~450m from surface and bounded by a NE-trending shear zone in the west. via Mining.com.au NickelSearch Limited is planning its first lithium-focused drill program to test the #lithium-#caesium-#tantalum (LCT) anomalies identified at the Quarry and those to its west, south, and north. The company will also seek to resolve negotiations for access and compensation to enable #drilling to be carried out on the private land, as it complete works to expose the bedrock geology of the Quarry, under Mining Warden permits. Drill programs for targets outside of this private land are being prepared and drilling in areas where there is an existing approved Program of Work will be fast-tracked. #NIS says additional soil sampling is underway to continue to test areas of interest (AOI) where there was little exposure of bedrock geology. Anglesey Mining plc said the first hole in a new drilling programme at #ParysMountain in #Wales has largely confirmed its modelling. "Drill hole NCZ001 was modelled to intersect two zones of potential sulphide mineralisation – the first between 365 – 510 metres, relating to the Northern Copper Zone; and the second between 610 – 620m interpreted to be an extension of the high-grade Garth Daniel Zone. "Visual logging of NCZ001 suggests two zones of #sulphide #mineralisation were intersected with the Northern Copper Zone interpreted to be between 351 – 540m and a second zone, potentially the Garth Daniel Zone, between 560 – 586m." Jo Battershill, chief executive, commented: “We are very pleased to have finished the first drill hole into the Northern #Copper Zone and get confirmation of both our geological and mineralisation models.
