To stimulate, support, and boost the massive deployment of #EnergyCommunities across #Europe, the #EuropeanUnion has lunched the BECKON Life project!🔋 🔎BECKON Life main goal is to equip a wide range of Energy Communities actors, as public authorities, energy agencies, and #LocalActionGroups, with a comprehensive Technical Assistance #Cookbook, integrated services, and a tailor-made #CapacityBuilding program, to facilitate the creation of Energy Communities and to provide efficient solutions that will help overcoming the main existing barriers to their development. 📣To replicate its positive results in other European municipalities, an Open Call for Replication has been launched! 📣 The #OpenCallforReplication will extend the full support and the service package included in the project’s goal to new local authorities, municipalities, and local or regional energy agencies, to guide them towards the familiarisation with the concept of #EnergyCommunities, as well as to empower them to create spaces for such citizen-centred energy projects and to support them in the process.   📆Are you eager to help us creating a new efficient and resilient #EnergyCommunity? Delighted to share insights from our latest collaborative article within Cost Action CA19126 on Positive Energy Districts (PEDs)! "Unraveling the implementation processes of PEDs: Lessons learned from multiple urban contexts" focuses on the challenges and potentials of PEDs in fostering energy efficiency and combating climate change. We have conducted qualitative interviews with key stakeholders of 6 PED cases. Our findings shed light on various barriers to PED implementation, including governance, incentives, social factors, processes, market dynamics, technology constraints, and contextual challenges, all identified in our prior article. Additionally: - Success factors in PED implementations are identified as clear roadmaps, stakeholder collaboration, and political commitment. - A decision-making process based on integrated urban models is imperative. - Local policy integration is crucial for enhancing stakeholder commitment. - A unified PED definition, contextual comprehension, and role clarification are necessary for effective implementation. - Recommendations are provided to enhance clarity in PED concepts, establish joint definitions, and deepen contextual understanding to drive effective implementation.
