To kick off National Hispanic Heritage Month, we honor the resilience and strength of individuals like Diana Castillo. After moving from Mexico, Diana faced both a cancer diagnosis and pregnancy, alone in a new country. But with the support of her family at Mary’s Center, including Nurse Maggie, she found hope and strength to continue her journey. 💙 Diana’s story is a testament to the power of community, and the strength within the Hispanic heritage. Together, we thrive. #NationalHispanicHeritageMonth #NHHM2024

Black Maternal Health Thought Leader & Researcher ~ Preeclampsia Foundation Ambassador ~ Perinatal Mental Health Advocate ~ Evidence Based Birth® Instructor ~Public Speaker
Doulas are seen as a valuable part of the pregnancy care team as we tend to understand the unique challenges and biases Black mothers encounter in medical settings. Our presence and advocacy can make a life-saving difference, providing emotional support, knowledge, and a powerful voice in hospitals where implicit bias often affects the quality of care. We need to continue supporting and uplifting our Black doulas, whose work is essential in combating these disparities and improving maternal health outcomes for Black women. All while ensuring the proper coins are in place and barriers to advancement torn down so we can thrive. You can read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/es_RsGiw

Maternal Mental Health Awareness Day is today. Urging you to build your awareness, education and take action. Maternal mental health not only affects moms; It affects the entire family and the workforce. #maternalmentalhealth #mentalhealthishealth #mentalhealthawareness
Today is #MaternalHealthAwarenessDay, and we are committed to shining a light on the #maternalhealth disparities in the US. Data from March of Dimes shows that more women are struggling to access care before, during and after pregnancy, which can be attributed to a 4 percent decrease in birthing hospitals in one year, and the loss of 301 birthing units since 2018 in the U.S. Our aim is to bring forward effective and lasting solutions in order to eliminate disparities and increase access to care for these women. But we can’t do it without you. Learn more about the challenges facing your community and learn ways to get involved: https://lnkd.in/dD6EpWfV

Today is #MaternalHealthAwarenessDay, designed to raise awareness around ongoing #maternalhealth issues in the U.S., such as barriers to access, growing maternity care deserts and loss of Medicaid coverage. At Medela, we understand that too many families do not receive the care they need and that understanding where and why these disparities exist can foster a community of targeted support that is necessary to nurture health for generations while promoting the life-giving benefits of #breastfeeding. Thousands of parents and caregivers are now weaving psychedelic experiences into their lives, seeking support for challenges like imposter syndrome and maternal guilt. While traditional cultures have long incorporated psychedelics within community life, including pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding, the Western psychedelic mainstream still struggles to include families. 👨👩👧👧 Join us THIS FRIDAY for this FREE webinar hosted by Dr. Glauber Loures de Assis, Associate Director of Chacruna Latinoamérica in Brazil.🍃 This presentation, drawing upon the author’s personal experience raising children in a Brazilian psychedelic context, offers 10 points for reflection on navigating this new frontier. It explores the potential and risks of psychedelic therapy for young people, social and economic considerations for psychedelic families, and the need to decolonize the field to embrace diverse perspectives. By sparking a dialogue about psychedelic parenthood, we can work towards a more inclusive and supportive psychedelic renaissance.💞 ✅ Register here to secure your space: https://lnkd.in/gBkaiSns
