AA.-GALAPAGOS ISLANDS, ECUADOR, SOUTH AMERICA. Everything you need to know for a private international corporate general aviation flight over the airports of the Galapagos Islands: There are 3 airports on the islands for use by international private general aviation, BALTRA/SEGS AIRPORT/Seymour Island (small island that was a base for the United States in World War II) Hours of operation is HJ(Sunrise and sunset) SLOT applies in the morning and afternoon due to commercial airline traffic. SEGS: Parking request 48 hours in advance of the arrival of the international private flight to the operator of the concessioned airport, called ECOGAL.S.A. SEGS: There are only two parking positions according to the size of the aircraft: BB: It´s not possible to fly direct into SEGS, Government requirements states that any operation coming into SEGS must land first in an International Ecuador Airport (SEGU, SEQM) for Immigration, Customs, Disinfecting and Inspection process of the aircraft and luggage, which usually takes up to two hours. CC: The SEGS operating hours are: In the morning from 1330 UTC to 1530 UTC / In the afternoon from 1830 UTC to 2130 UTC DD: Please advise in advance if the aircraft will need to remain overnight at SEGS because we will have to coordinate with the airport authorities to book a parking slot for your aircraft.Only there is two space for parking up to GULF-5/GLEX. SEST: San Cristobal/SEST has 03 spaces.for parking up to GULF-650. SEII: Isabela/SEII has one space up to FA-20. PARKING NOTICE: Parking is extremely limited, and as a rule is not allowed unless approved in advance. 1.-Baltra has 02 (GULF-5 size aircraft). Normal CIQ procedures, and specific procedures required for Galapagos flights. 2.-San Cristóbal has 03 parking stands (up to G650 size aircraft), Parking restrictions apply due to high demand for space. The Operations hours:- DATABASE UPDATE: BALTRA/SEGS operating hours are: In the morning from 1330 UTC to 1530 UTC / In the afternoon from 1830 UTC to 2130 UTC (-6 GMT) 0730 to 0930 local / 1230 to 1530 local. (Apply SLOT for general aviation) SAN CRISTOBAL/SEST and ISABELA/SEII operating hours : HJ -Sunset and sunrise- (SLOT does not apply for general aviation). The cause: geographical distance of the islands (1,000 kms)and the communication is very poor.( This has been going on for years, but it will be worse by line saturation and high demand.)
