Use Case: - PKF used our SmartRock wireless sensors to monitor concrete strength and temperature. Impact: - Real-time notifications sent to the PKF team's mobile app, when desired concrete temperature and strength was reached. Ongoing results: - Scheduling Efficiency: Accurate data on concrete strength helped in scheduling subsequent construction activities efficiently, minimizing downtime and delays. - Cost Management: Monitoring prevented issues like delayed curing or weak spots, reducing costs associated with repairs, rework, and project overruns. "As Northville Downs current location is now closed permanently, this may be the end of the harness horse racing gambling industry in Michigan. But Plymouth Township’s residents have expressed little sympathy for the industry. “A dying, harmful business is not what the community wants for the future of their township, and I hope that you’ve heard that,” Ban told the Board. “Live horse races account for less than 4% of wagers at this facility,” observed Adams, “ however it is still an industry with decades of decline and controversy. This gambling facility contravenes our master plan…Northville Downs holds accountability for thinking it was okay to force itself onto our community without assessing overall residential sentiment–frankly business 101.” What’s happened in Plymouth Township is similar to what’s happening in many other Michigan communities–communities facing Manufacturing 4.0 megasite development, in particular. In Big Rapids, both Green Charter Township’s Supervisor and Big Rapids Township’s Supervisor dug in their heels in favor of Gotion, in spite of rising community opposition to the project. Unlike Heise, however, BRT and GCT’s supervisors never acknowledged that Gotion was operating in bad faith, steamrolling over their constituents until they were recalled last November–by a landslide. Likewise, Marshall’s City Council continues to defend corporate interests, black moneyed lobbying groups, and economic developers above the will of the people. Marshall residents have continued to protest the Ford CATL EV megasite twice each week–even throughout the winter. As more developers and local boards go over the heads of local residents to strike deals for large, inappropriate projects, more residents are mobilizing against this overreach. That’s all well and good and I agree something needs to be done with The Grand but there are fundamental issues that need fixing first. Scarborough has a massive pothole issue and the council seems to think that filling the holes with gravel will fix the problem. There’s a massive issue with drainage in Falsgrave park causing it to be either a bog or an ice rink. The council won’t grit it in the winter for fear of liability if someone has an accident, in the meantime, residents, especially the older generation fear taking a walk in the winter because they don’t want to fall. The A64 has had “talks” about it being a dual carriage way for years, when will this become a reality? There’s plots of land/warehouse at the back of Morrison’s that would be ideal for rock climbing/ice rink/trampoline centre to encourage residents and visitors all year round. What will be done about the fact there are Poundlands and charity shops but nowhere to encourage locals to shop local building a sustainable local economy? Surely these are issues that should be tackled before injecting millions of, presumably tax payers’ money into a project that will take years to come to fruition or is this a project for you purely to attract voters?

We don't really own that In her beautiful poem, The Moment, Margaret Atwood, contemplates all that has been achieved in life. She reflects that, "The moment when, after many years of hard work and a long voyage you stand in the centre of your room, house, half-acre, square mile, island, country, knowing at last how you got there, and say, I own this..." It is gratifying to think about what we have accomplished, whom we have met, what we have built, and what we "own." Even with that, though, we still spend time trying to find ways to "own" more "stuff". We somehow equate our worth with what we have built or bought—with our money, our time, and our energy. Atwood cautions us, though, that much of this really isn't ours. That, more likely, we belong to the "stuff" we think we own. In our pursuit of success, we have become beholden to the "things" we accumulated. "No, they whisper. You own nothing. You were a visitor, time after time climbing the hill, planting the flag, proclaiming. We never belonged to you. You never found us. It was always the other way round."
