Maryhaven was at the Health and Wellness Fair at Grange Insurance headquarters yesterday! Maryhaven team member Kiera and our board member Kayne were on hand, educating attendees about how Maryhaven helps people restore their lives through recovery programs and support. They also shared information about opportunities to join our team and contribute to a mission that offers hope and healing.

Please join me in congratulating Jennifer Johnson, who was recently named the 2024 Art Lynn Community Advocate Award winner at the ADAMH Board of Franklin County annual meeting earlier this week. Jennifer was recognized for her years of service and dedication to improving the lives of those living with a substance use disorder. The FDA's approval of over-the-counter naloxone, known as Narcan, has been vital in combating opioid overdoses. Studies show layperson naloxone use has increased 43% since 2020, though experts like Maryhaven’s Matt Grafton stress that more people carrying Narcan could save even more lives. Grafton, who has reversed overdoses, emphasizes its importance in emergency situations. Former Maryhaven client Timothy Pratt, who was saved by Narcan multiple times, highlights its life-saving role.
