Since 2022, the Certified B Corporation movement has experienced rapid growth, with the number of B Corps doubling globally to over 8,500, spanning 98 countries, 160+ industries, and employing over 780,000 people. Tanck is particularly proud to witness this expansion, as it reflects the increasing recognition and influence of the B Corp movement worldwide. A recent survey conducted in late 2023 reveals a growing awareness of B Corp Certification, especially in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, where 85% and 79% of respondents prioritise, businesses considering the welfare of people and the planet. Tanck's involvement in the B Corp movement aligns with its dedication to conscious consumption and responsible business practices. The survey also shows that certifications like B Corp significantly influence purchasing and employment decisions, with a notable proportion actively seeking B Corp Certification when making choices. This growth underscores the importance of fostering a truly inclusive, equitable, and regenerative global economy, with B Corps leading the way. The Guild of Fine Food invited me to be part of their panel discussion on B Corp yesterday. We had a very interesting conversation, facilitated by Christabel Cairns with my fellow panellists: Jayne Noblet, Paul Longega, Guy Tullberg, Georgia Jones about the pleasures of embarking on a B Corp certification journey, whether you are a micro-entreprise or a large company, ploughing on your own or with the support of a B Corp Consultant. B Lab UK provides a lot of support online, as part of the B Impact Assessment but the first thing to do is to check your eligibility!
