And with the launch of RTD’s MyRide Account-Based Ticketing system powered by Masabi, customers can simply tap MyRide smart cards or scan the MyRide app when boarding buses or at rail stations. Fare capping ensures customers pay the lowest fares at daily and monthly limits, allowing everyone the savings of period passes without needing to purchase them upfront. With this extension, Masabi will continue to provide RTD with its cutting-edge end-to-end fare payment platform. Additionally, this extension marks another milestone in our successful partnership, allowing us to further our work together and continue to innovate in the public transit space. What if the future of digitalizing the ferry terminals wasn't efficiency and speed of operations? This is already covered ground (for first movers 🙈) and we have to think bigger. What if the ferry terminals (RoRo/RoPax) could become revenue centers by / ensuring correct vehicle allocation and payment for each passenger / using data on past behaviour, purchase history and similar customers to offer personalized recommendations / allowing easier add-on sales through digital assistants / integrating border shop into the digital terminal flow / offering digital purchases and services in the terminal (order a burger to your car?) / offering entertainment while waiting (interactive digital games like in the cinema?)? Having a good start to the journey in the terminal is paramount for the perception of the experience on board. Smart ticketing forum launched to develop national tap and cap fare system. Sub-national transport body Midlands Connect, along with the Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), bus operators’ group Project Coral and the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom are working together on a ticketing solution which will make multi-modal travel cheaper and easier for individuals using their smart phone or contactless bank card, capping payments at a daily or weekly limit. Chaired by Midlands Connect, the Integrated Ticketing Advisory Forum (ITAF) will provide an opportunity for Midlands local transport authorities to share the work they are doing to make a single multi-operator smart ticketing solution possible. Although developed in the Midlands, ITAF’s findings will be offered as a national solution through the other six STBs which cover the whole of England outside of London. ITAF’s focus will be on bus and tram travel and how to make it easier to pay for journeys when using a number of different operators...
