Earlier this week in #Sagamore #MassDOT officials joined Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Ed Markey, Rep Bill Keating and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England, to celebrate the nearly $1 billion in federal funding for the replacement of the Cape Cod bridges. The project will bring the bridges into a state of good repair, lower the long-term maintenance costs, address issues with traffic operations, improve safety by reducing crashes by as much as 48 percent and preserve and enhance productivity through new direct jobs and other economic benefits. The new design will also have multimodal elements including shared-use paths to fill transportation gaps and ensure full accessibility for pedestrians, cyclists and people with mobility devices. We thank the Healey-Driscoll administration, the federal delegation, all of the local leaders, legislators, community organizations, partners, the Massachusetts Federal Funds & Infrastructure Office (FFIO) and our team below from MassDOT who made all of this possible!
