More and more companies are making the necessary adjustments to language and expectations for team members. "We're a family" is something that feels good but ultimately isn't serving the company and team best. Making cuts, promotions, and fires is a necessary part of a healthy team that, let's face it, you can't really do to your actual family! The more important point that companies need to start embracing is that genuinely caring for those on your team should not be mutually exclusive from holding each other accountable and trusting each other. Listen to this interview with Adam and Brian.

Today, I want to talk about something we've all experienced: going above and beyond our job descriptions. I'm all for being a team player and pitching in where needed. But let's be real - there's a fine line between collaboration and exploitation. When you consistently take on tasks outside your role, it's time for a conversation. It's not about refusing to help. It's about: • Acknowledging the extra value you bring • Ensuring your efforts don't go unnoticed • Advocating for proper compensation or title adjustment Your willingness to help doesn't mean your core responsibilities should suffer or your growth should stall. #CareerGrowth #WorkplaceCulture #ProfessionalDevelopment #KnowYourWorth

🚀 Paid Ads Manager | Digital Marketing Wizard 🧙 | Boost Your Social Ads Performance 📈 | Message Me for Magical Results! ✨
Sociallyin is the 2nd company that I’ve worked for more than 2 years in my entire career. At this point, I’ve finally realized why there are some employees who just refused to work anywhere else. It’s because once you’ve found a company that: 1. Treats you with respect 2. Cares about your well-being 3. Compensate you a fair amount 4. Challenges you to go above and beyond 5. Encourages you to be better and the best in your field 6. Provides you amazing co-workers and bosses that supports each other You just can’t imagine yourself working anywhere else. You just can’t imagine leaving your family behind. I know there’s some stigma about calling a company you’re working for a family but I believe this with every fiber of my being, that I’ve finally found a company that I truly consider as my 2nd family.

Attracting and Placing Exceptional Talent in SMEs - Personal, Transparent and Effective Recruitment Solutions. Recruitment made simple.
Supporting Each Other: The Heart of a Great Team At Debbie Burbage Recruitment, we believe the most valuable thing we can offer our colleagues is support. In our day-to-day work, it's easy to focus on tasks and goals, but what truly makes a difference is how we show up for one another. Supporting a colleague goes beyond lending a hand on a busy day—it's about listening with empathy, celebrating their wins, and being there through the challenges. It's about creating a space where everyone feels safe, valued, and heard. When we lift each other up, we strengthen not only our team but also the relationships that shape our work culture. Together, we can achieve so much more, because we're not just building careers—we're building a community of people who care deeply for one another. Let's continue to make a difference by showing kindness, offering encouragement, and remembering that, at the end of the day, it's our support for each other that truly drives our success. #TeamSupport #MakingADifference #WorkplaceCulture #Kindness #Collaboration #TogetherWeThrive #DebbieBurbageRecruitment

Since 2023, I have had the privilege of serving as the Chair of YounGen at GM Financial. It can be intimidating to start a new job, connect with a new team and navigate the transition to working full time. These challenges can quickly overshadow the excitement of starting a new professional chapter, even for the most tenured individuals. The YounGen Employee Resource Group (ERG) helps to bridge this gap by fostering opportunities for young professionals to connect with peers, learn from seasoned leaders and grow in their careers. As the chair of the YounGen-NA chapter, I understand the complexities of navigating the corporate world as a young professional. I find myself on the edge of the millennial generation and Gen Z, so I resonate with both. When I started in 2021, my onboarding and first few months were 100% remote before shifting to a hybrid environment. From the first day, my leaders in Customer Experience empowered me to succeed and encouraged me to make the most of all the opportunities at GMF. So, I have seen the benefit and joy that come from connecting with others in my team, my department and beyond. As chair, I want to help promote and foster this key part of the GMF culture for others. The YounGen ERG is strategically designed with young professionals in mind, as it seeks to equip and empower millennials and Gen Z team members in the workplace. From virtual networking to mentoring interns to speaker sessions, YounGen cultivates events that add value to team members and the business. #IworkatGMFinancial #GMF #BrandAmbassador #DFW #LeadOn #ERG #YoungProfessionals
GM Financial has an array of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) which empower our team members to find community and be the best they can be. Launched last year, the YounGen ERG was created to connect and develop those who are young in their careers and young at heart. Founder/CEO at WISE Digital Partners | 2024 Inc. 5000 | Forbes Agency Council | 2022 Entrepreneur of The Year by CEOReview
I know what my team wants from their lives. Not just from their jobs. That’s because some of our team members have been with me for over a decade, and that kind of loyalty comes with trust. My team trusts me to create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to grow in the direction they choose. Whether someone wants to retire with WISE Digital, take on more responsibility, or simply continue doing what they love in their current role, understanding their bigger goals allows me to create the right opportunities for them within our company - like supplementary job training, considerations for promotions, or new mentorship opportunities. In return for the self-fulfillment they’re looking for, they stay invested in our mission, and I get loyal, capable team members to help support the company’s goals. It’s a relationship that goes beyond the typical boss-employee dynamic, one based on mutual respect, trust, and a shared vision for the future. Managers need to create a professional environment where people feel valued not just for their contributions at work, but for who they are and what they want to achieve in life. That’s how you cultivate a team that’s not only committed to your company’s mission but also motivated to grow alongside it.

Client feedback - How good is shared vision! Susan and RubyE Consulting have been game changing for Red Arc. Our team, funnily enough, are all people (including myself and Henrietta!) and Susan has been invaluable helping us better look after people (including ourselves!). As founders she has helped us define our values and function better both in the business and in our life. Plus her input into our team hiring process has radically altered our ability to find the right people, who fit our values, in the first place! If you've got a nagging feeling that there really is a better way to make that business/career that you're pursuing with so much passion work better with your whole life - get in contact - you won't regret it! -- RedArc Founder Stu Hawkins #happyplace #teamwork #progress #momentum #fulfillment

3 1/2 years ago I worked for a corporate company making six figures. 3 1/2 years ago I started my own company in a completely different field, I believed in my vision. Now I have seven employees and two managers with both of them make more than I did working in a corporate company. We are programmed our whole lives to be working bees. We are taught to work and obey orders. We are promised a false vision from these corporate companies with culture and false hope of accomplishment. Don’t get me wrong, I learned a lot working for these companies. But the most important lesson that I learned was never worked for a corporation. Once you break that cycle, you will truly have freedom. Don’t be slave to the system. Create your own destiny and financial freedom.

Blank Slate: So, I've been thinking about my time in different organizations, and there's something important I want to share. When we all start a new job, we bring in a bunch of ideas and opinions from our past workplaces, right? Totally normal. But here's the tricky part. Once we're in, we start hearing what others think about different people here in offfices. It's easy to let those opinions guide us and form quick judgments, which might not be the best move. What I've realized is that everyone's journey is different. We've all had our own experiences in past jobs, and what worked for one person might not be the same for someone else. So, I'm suggesting we hit the reset button. Let's approach our colleagues and leaders in our offices with a clean slate, without being influenced by what others say. This way, we create a vibe where everyone's unique strengths and ideas are appreciated. As we dive into this professional journey together, let's build trust through our own experiences. Let's celebrate the different thoughts and experiences each of us brings to the table. It's all about making our workplace more chill and welcoming. Excited to sail through this new adventure with you all ! #NewBeginnings #FreshPerspectives #Teamwork #FAOFamily 🚀✨

Decades of looking at things differently; disrupting and designing how things get done! Executive Leadership @Fragomen, Technology CEO @Fragomen WorkRIght US, Executive Advisory mentoring and Angel Investing Speaker.
Introducing Asked and Answered! Hi, Friends – Most people who know me know that I love having discussions about what’s next; challenging norms and pushing to accelerate, usually with ambitious expectations. I’ve spent many years serving some of the largest and most impactful companies in the world in my roles at Fragomen - most recently with a focus on Fragomen’s WorkRight technology. I also offer my experience in a volunteer leadership and mentor capacity to a number of industry organizations. I’m asked a lot of questions. And truth be told, I love it! Recently I was challenged to share more about the discussions I have. To that end, I am going to give it a try. I certainly don’t think that I have all the answers, but perhaps it will drive a lively and deeper conversation from the community. I hope so! So for now, at least two days each month, I’ll share some of the most frequently asked questions I get right here – along with my thoughts. I’ll cover ground from Right to Work, I-9 and immigration to corporate culture and community to AI to how our personal values and diversions impact our work lives. I’m sure there’ll be a range of other topics, too, related to global mobility, talent acquisition and engagement, right to work onboarding and vetting, networking and work-anywhere issues, not to mention family, kids and dogs! Have a question? Send it to me and I will do my best to cover it in a future post. Be sure to come back tomorrow for a quick read on how I have been responding to parents who have been asking what are the important skills for the future that all should be developing. #askedandanswered #leadership #I9 #onboarding #talentmanagement #futureof #skillsgap #community WERC Fragomen Bay Area Mobility Management Scott Hamilton Lynn Greenberg Chris Roberts Roman Zelichenko, JD Horst Gallo Swapna Abraham Vini Valverde Brian Friedman Ben Cross, SCRP Robert Brezosky Jr Bill Mulholland SCRP, GMS Alain Verstandig Andrew Walker Ben Heller Anupam Singhal Nitzan Yudan Tanya Mariottini, GMS-T Ashli Aldrich, GPHR Erik Eccles Maura Carey, SCRP Bob Rosing Michael Filia, SCRP Sam Stoddard Chad Salisbury Brendan Ryan Daniela Santangelo Deb Convery, SPHR, GMS-T Kristi NevarezKyle D'Souza Darren Gibson Erica Wallace Kerwin Guillermo Ray Kirby, Azmina Aboobaker Jennifer Green,Chad Ellsworth Brad Powles
