Just a small recognition for myself, Over the course of the last 2 months I have been performing the role of a stand in Assistant Branch Manager due to staff illness. I am extremely proud of how far I have come in these two months. I have worked extremely hard to keep things running smoothly, and personally I felt like the branch has not faultered in this period. I have taken control of operations and kept the branches incoming and outgoings deliveries in order and on time. I have pursued different marketing strategies, targeting new and old customers through emails and SMS messages, reminding them of the brilliant service they can receive from Benchmarx Kitchens & Joinery Walsall. I have also dabbed my hand in designing (see previous posts) learning the aspects of a designers role and what they do for our customers, turning dreams into a reality seems so rewarding. I have taught myself new systems and new ways of working, keeping my mind open to the new challenges I have been facing each day as they come. In this time I have built great relationships with our customers that I would not have had the opportunity to do from within the warehouse. Hopefully, this transfers into a more permanent opportunity down the road. but I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity I have had over these last two months. however, no matter the outcome of the next few weeks for me on a personal level, I can look back and be incredibly proud of what I have personally accomplished. I believe that I have proved to myself and others what I am capable of, and who knows what the future holds! onwards and upwards. #BenchmarxKitchens #Opportunities #PersonalAchievement

I do a lot of my thinking when I am walking the dogs in the New Forest or on the beach. Today's lightbulb moment was "Why don't we bring back refer a friend?" As 90% of our business has been built on word of mouth and previous marketing efforts have proved that this is still the best way, it makes utter sense to reinstate the initiative. SO if you successfully refer a friend who also works in luxury retail and is a decision maker we will reward this in the following way: * Leads to a planned maintenance contract £1000 cash * Leads to a project (refurbishment etc) £1000 cash * Leads to ad hoc reactive jobs over a 3 month period £500 cash So what are you waiting for? You decide what you want. Meet the newest addition to the family, Deon Jansen, our Branch Manager at Builders Warehouse Katutura. From humble roots to finally managing to complete a part-time degree in Business Management, he has the grit and the tenacity our family is known for. Jansen says his first ten months in the position have taught him a lot but most important for him is time management. In his own words, “there are a variety of things which must be completed every day but, there are always unplanned things which pop up and if you don’t manage your time, your staff feel neglected and neglected staff leads to bad service which I do not allow.” And his plate is full from staff, HR duties, procurement, sales, and daily operations including merchandising, displays and other operational aspects. He does not have time to waste. But Jansen is a tough cookie. Raised by a single mom he got his first part-time job at 16 as a Shop Assistant to help his mom pay the bills. So, he understands the value of showing up and doing your best every single day. “I have this mindset of doing everything to the best of my ability. I have to always make a real difference and demonstrate my capabilities. This is also what I instill in my staff. We have a culture of service and pride in our store, our brand and ourselves. That way, we can give our clients the best.” His advice? “Work hard on yourself to gain as much knowledge as possible. No one can take that away from you. Study if you can and then create a map from what you know, and this will open doors for you.” Jansen says it is a simple thing: As a baby, you crawled before you could walk and then you walked before you could run. “Create a vision for yourself. Say, ‘I want this and then decide how you want to achieve it and get going’. It takes time but you must be consistent and stay focused.” #Staffintroduction #EmployeeExperience

As we grow in our careers, we often look back on our first jobs with a sense of nostalgia. For me, my first job at a furniture store in college provided me with invaluable lessons in selling. Working full-time while studying was challenging, but the skills I learned during those years have stayed with me to this day. What was your first job where you developed important skills? I love my job! I was nervous and excited at the same time when I got the opportunity to come be the primary on site manager in charge of the remodel for the Lenexa, KS Sam’s Club. This week or next the final inspectors and home office representatives will be here to walk off the work to make sure everything is completed. This was no “simple” remodel. Just about every pallet of merchandise changed position in the warehouse and we added a walk in produce and dairy to maximize the effectiveness of our fresh walk space to bring more items and more quantities to our members. It was a tough yet enlightening experience. Here are the top 5 things I’ve learned throughout the whole journey. 1. Plan, plan, and then plan some more With so many fixtures, areas, and functions changing it’s important to slow down and make sure you will have all the materials, supplies, and people you will need when you need them. 2. Sometimes you just need to make a decision No matter how many blueprints, schematics, check off lists, and emails you get you’ll run into a time when you don’t know the answer and might not have anyone to ask. Make the best decision and keep moving forward. 3. People matter The best asset will always be the people around you trying to make the vision come to life. Treat them right and they will go far for you. 4. Don’t be afraid of the dirt Many times I came out of an aisle covered in dust and dirt from moving things around. It’s important to not always let someone else do it for you and to show them you aren’t afraid of letting the dirt get on you too. 5. Learn to lead through change Perhaps the most important thing I’ve learned. Change is constant and will always keep coming. Adapt and overcome and move on to the next while keeping your people at the forefront is most important. People get nervous when they see someone unsure of themselves. I’ve been very appreocative of what I’ve learned and those who’ve mentored me along the way. I’m ready and thrilled to stay after the final walk off and continue to lead through change as we deliver a fantastic new club to our local members who deserve it. Go Sam’s! 👍👍 #leadership #retail #remodel #samsclub

Advocate for Data Privacy & Data Governance | Driving Privacy-First Mindset | Championing B2B Martech & Sales Compliance
This post is a result of the sheer frustrating experience with Furlenco with whom I had placed an order of furniture for 3 items on 15th Dec'23. Despite placing an order 11 days ago, the expected furniture is yet to be delivered. The order status consistently shows "Out for Delivery" without any actual delivery happening. Ajith Mohan Karimpana (CEO, Furlenco) and Nitesh Mohandas (CBO, Furlenco) I am raising this concern to you with extreme dissatisfaction that my attempts to address the issue with both the customer care and on ground operations team have been met with resistance and refusal to fulfill the delivery commitment for the last 11 days now. What's more concerning is the apparent disconnect between internal teams. The customer care and operations teams seem to have no communication at all. Furthermore, the field executives are extremely rude and switch off their phones after 5 pm daily, making it impossible to get updates or assistance. As a customer, I hold companies to high service standards, and sadly, my recent experience with Furlenco has fallen short very badly. Timely and efficient service is crucial, especially for essential items like furniture. If this is the sort of service your company promises, I would never recommend Furlenco to any of my friends, family or colleagues for that matter looking at your service. I reach out to you directly, hoping your intervention can expedite a resolution. I appreciate your attention and hope for a swift resolution. #experience #furlenco #rentalfurniture #furniture #customerexperience #worstcustomerexperience
