In fact, he was very confident that he would not be changing jobs as he was very happy with his current position/employer. He said that he is well-experienced in front-end development, but he has an interest in companies that focus on hardware products. I introduced the role I was hiring for, and he decided to apply. Although he really liked the opportunity and went through the whole process, unfortunately, he was rejected. Then, a week later, I began recruiting for a completely different role. The company was in the surveillance industry, specializing in cutting-edge hardware products. It immediately reminded me of Henri. I saw it would be a great match for both sides (cultural and personality match), so I told the company about him. Even though they weren’t looking for a front-end developer at the time, they decided to hop on a call. The interview went well, and the rest is history. When I checked in with him after some time, he said it was the best career decision he had made. Applying to jobs these days has become so stressful, with all the layoffs and market crashes. So the job market *might* be warming up again? My bad news is that neither of my final round interviews from last week has turned into a job. But on the other hand, I actually had multiple *final-round* interviews, and I'm even starting too see more messages from recruiters again. (One of which even led to one of those final-round interviews) On that note, I'm still looking for a new job, if anyone's either hiring or knows someone who's hiring. I *am* more proficient at back-end development, although I don't have a preference on language. I've actually used more or less everything companies will look for except Rust and Go, and I've even learned new languages on the fly, like how I hadn't used Ruby before starting at Amount.
