Didn't want to miss showcasing this approval as it is another huge win for Woodbridge and the whole region. On January 17th the Woodbridge Planning Board approved 235 Residential Units, a new medical office/office building and new restaurant space at the Metropark Station. Stonefield Engineering & Design provided Traffic Engineering and Professional Planning expertise for Russo Development on this transformational project. In addition to the new mixed-use development right on this NJ Transit/Amtrak hub, there will be traffic improvements including new and updated traffic signals, changes that will provide for a more efficient bus circulation and parking layout, and station improvements to one of the most undervalued transit hubs. This project represents one of those ideal private-public partnerships between a developer, Township, and State Agency. Haven't seen an article about the approval - but this is an article previewing the application. https://lnkd.in/d6hHMqgd

Two newly constructed bridges signify a major step in the Toronto Port Lands redevelopment effort, say the projects’ partners, reported Connect CRE. "The Cherry Street North and Commissioners Street bridges have opened for vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist traffic. About 500 acres of once under utilized Port Lands are to be redeveloped as part of an urban renewal project headed by Waterfront Toronto." "Funded by three levels of government, Waterfront Toronto partners with the city’s waterfront secretariat and community, public and private sector organizations to create shore-area parks, public spaces, cultural amenities and commercial and residential real estate developments." "The two bridges connect the future Villers Island to downtown Toronto and are part of Waterfront Toronto’s $1.3-billion Port Lands flood protection project. The infrastructure developments are central to the district’s revitalization and regeneration effort, according to the partners." https://lnkd.in/gZrhTn8x #toronto #infrastructure #development

Jeanette White of the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) updated the Sylva Rotary Club on the R-5600 project to reconfigure N.C. 107 through Sylva's commercial corridor. The $155 million, 2.6-mile project aims to improve safety and traffic flow by implementing a right-in, right-out configuration and adding several walls to minimize business impact. Construction, starting in late 2025 and lasting about four years, could be shortened by working during low-traffic daylight hours. The project will modernize stormwater management and incorporate a green wave traffic system. Despite community concerns, efforts have been made to reduce business disruptions, with 40 businesses impacted. The project also includes refurbishing existing bridges, managing utilities, and potentially adding a detour near Smoky Mountain High School to expedite construction. #NorthCarolina #TrafficSafety #Bridges #Projects

Success Story: Access Self Storage in Bristol Planning permission was originally granted in 2008 for a self-storage facility and residential units, but the project was not completed due to the financial crisis. Subsequently, a new plan was approved, focusing solely on a large self-storage facility, while retaining as much historic fabric as possible. The planning process involved multiple stages, including pre-application submissions, amendments to the original decision, and addressing demolition and design challenges, culminating in approval at Planning Committee despite local opposition. The Wallingford Planning and Zoning Commission could act on a site plan application to build 22 units of housing with a parking lot at 898 Church St. in Yalesville. The application was filed under Connecticut's 8-30g statute, which stipulates that developments with 30 percent of its units deemed affordable can only be denied under limited criteria.
