[Productive Use of Energy] WeLight is pleased to share the impact of our Productive Use of Energy (PUE) project, jointly funded by DEVELOPPP and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH. This initiative has been implemented in 40 villages across Madagascar 🇲🇬. Over the past two years, 160 entrepreneurs has been selected and trained in partnership with NextA, focused on enhancing their entrepreneurial skills and identifying business opportunities enabled by reliable electricity. 📈 120+ Entrepreneurial projects launched covering agricultural processing, cold chain distribution, tailoring, crafts, mechanics, hairdressing, and multi-services. These new services are contributing to local economic development, job creation, and improved living conditions. 🚀 This project has served as an effective pilot to test our entrepreneur support model. 🌱 Exciting News from UrbanFarm Africa! 🚀 Recently, I had the pleasure of taking some of our team members on a tour to meet the brilliant Entrepreneurs behind some of UrbanFarm Africa's smart agri Hydro Coop farms. Visiting some of the Hydro Coop owners left us in awe of the incredible results they've achieved in such a short time. In just 5 weeks, their broilers have reached an impressive weight of around 2kg, and in just one more week, they'll be ready for market. But here's the real kicker: within 5 months, they'll have saved up enough to each purchase an additional Coop. And guess what? They've already placed their orders! This journey underscores a crucial lesson: entrepreneurship and business ownership are about taking small steps, understanding your product quality and market, and gradually expanding. It's a journey of growth and learning that ultimately leads to sustainable success. We're immensely proud of these entrepreneurs and grateful for the opportunity to support their journey. 🚀 The #MSMEDigitalBootcamp in Keetmanshoop kicked off on 18-20 June 2024, in collaboration with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Namibia and the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), and facilitated by NAMCOL. 20 #MSMEs in sectors such as #agriculture #renewableenergy, #tourism and #digital businesses were trained over the course of three days, on essential #digitaltools to scale their #enterprises, expand #marketaccess, and improve #productivity.
