_____ CALORIES EXPLAINED_____ First of all, let's remember energy cannot be created nor destroyed,it can only be transformed from one type to another. A calorie is the amount of energy needed to raise temperature of 1 litre of water by 1 degree Celsius. A calorie=form of energy measurement. When you eat food, you consume the energy that is stored within the food. Your body then uses this energy to produce movement and keep your organism alive. Alternatively, if all energy is not used right away,it can also be stored for later use (as glycogen or fat). _____CALORIE BALANCE ______ There are 3 different states of calorie balance, you can only be in one state at a time. 1. Negative calorie balance: this is when someone burns more calories than he/she consumes, meaning you would lose weight. 2. Neutral calorie balance: here, a person's intake of calories is the same as the expenditure of activities they process. 3. Positive calorie balance: here, the energy intake is higher than the physical activity which could lead to weight gain. please follow for more of these and comment your own understanding of calories #caloriesinsight #energyexplained #calories #energy #foodintake #Nutrition

Great thing about running is learning about calorie deficit, since a good solid jog will burn a little over 1000 calories. In general, if you cut about 500 calories a day from your usual diet, you will lose about ½ to 1 pound a week. Biggest cut back is ADDED SUGARS and a good starting point is eliminating soda. A 12oz can of soda has 160 calories due to 40 grams of sugar. So how much is 40 grams? (Get ready to puke!) One sugar pack for your coffee at a restaurant is 1 gram. Now take 40 of those packs and put them all together and there’s your calories. But remember, deficit is about burning more than your intake. Diet alone without burning what you consume will slowly get you nowhere.

I help business owners thrive through nutrition, exercise & mindset by giving them tools and strategies they can use for the next 20 years+ without having to go on another diet again. |Nutrition | Diet |
We over complicate food and as a result, you over complicate the strategy to achieve the fat loss goals that you have. You see food is merely an instruction to the body on what to run on. Think of a car, if you put petrol in a petrol car, it runs well, and the same is true of diesel in a diesel car. As humans, we are a duel-fuel system, we can run on fats and we can run on carbs. The problem with modern nutrition is that you are trying to utilise and burn fat with the strategy of pumping in carbs. All you are doing is telling the body that you want to run on carbs, and that gets you nowhere when it comes to burning fat. So you need to change the method, you want to lose body fat, then give the body the right instructions, add more fat into your diet. Want to know how this can be done? Sugar cravings are often centered around a drop in your energy levels. That little boost of sugar creates a short-lived bout of energy that seems to get you through the day. But often, when you crave sugar, what your body needs is more fiber! While it’s not quite a one-stop-shop for how to fix your sugar cravings, adding more fiber to your diet allows your body to break it down more slowly and release energy in a timed manner. Instead of one big burst, it’s a slow release that helps you control what you want to eat. Getting enough fiber, short of taking fiber pills every day is a challenge. Check out the link in my bio to find ways to incorporate more fiber into your diet to beat back those sugar cravings once and for all! #healthboost #endsugarcravings #healthjourney #newyearnewlife #makingchanges

Your body turns sugar into fat FASTER than it turns fat into fat! Here's why sugar is a sneaky culprit: -It's quickly broken down and stored -It causes insulin spikes -High insulin = 7x faster fat storage Natural sugars come with fiber to slow absorption. But we've messed with that balance. 🍎 vs 🍭 The result? Sugar hits your bloodstream before it even reaches your stomach! 🤔 Ever noticed how you feel after eating whole fruit vs. candy? Next time you crave something sweet, reach for whole fruit instead of refined sugar. Share your experience in the comments! 👇 #HealthyEating #HealthFacts #NutritionTips

Do you know with all the emphasis on low-fat diets, it may surprise you that fat offers more energy than carbs? Per gram, fat provides a hefty 9 calories - more than double carb's mere 4 calories! This matters because it means foods higher in fat keep you fuller longer on less. And all those extra calories translate into readily available, long-lasting energy, instead of riding the blood sugar rollercoaster. FOR IG: Curious about fat burning? Comment 🔥, and I'll explain the difference! FOR LinkedIn: To sum it up, understanding metabolic states is essential. Let's connect for more insights. #healthyfats #energy #satiety
