To celebrate the launch of the newly dedicated American fleet of Bombardier Global 7500 aircraft part of the Vista Members’ fleet, we have been touring the U.S. on a coast-to-coast roadshow. Spanning key destinations – New York, Palm Beach, Dallas, and Los Angeles – this tour underscores Vista's commitment to fulfilling business aviation demands from the U.S. to anywhere in the world. “We see strong demand for the long-haul, non-stop capabilities of the Global 7500. And while we already service international trips, like California to Asia, the Vista America operated U.S. fleet allows expansion and service of all requests for this aircraft – such as Texas to Alaska, Chicago to Hawaii, and Seattle to Anguilla. Vista is uniquely positioned to fulfill this demand, as we’re the only company to offer connectivity at this scale” says Leona Qi, President U.S. of Vista. The first and largest operator of #Bombardier’s iconic #Global7500, Vista caters to the needs of business travelers across the region offering a consistent flying solution for both domestic and long-range travel. The route of growth and success
We’re excited to introduce you to George Lourens. George is the On-site Manager at the Cape Winelands Airport. George has been working at the airport for nearly 18 years. He describes his aviation journey as unexpected, but working alongside the previous owner of the airport, who was a pilot, his interest in aviation was soon piqued. There were frequent flights that were enjoyed, often to various destinations igniting in George a passion for airplanes. Although he was the foreman on an olive farm, he fully transitioned from olive groves to airport runways; marking a significant shift for George, one that he wholeheartedly embraced. The opportunity to immerse himself in the world of aviation was a dream come true, and he hasn't looked back since. George says that he is particularly eager to witness the airport's evolution, alongside a team of dedicated and forward-thinking professionals. Interacting with colleagues and tenants alike, George finds inspiration in the ambitious plans and shared vision for the future. He takes pride in his role and actively tries to foster a culture of positivity and collaboration within the airport community. George hails from Plettenberg Bay, co-incidentally, close to Plettenberg Bay Airport, which has recently become a part of rsa.AERO stable (rsa.AERO is also the group that owns and operates Cape Winelands Airport). He has proven himself to be an invaluable asset to the team. His knowledge of the precinct, positive attitude, and ability to work with people help to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently on-site. George has a genuine love for the meaningful connections he forms with his colleagues and visitors alike. He values respect and professionalism, qualities that he embodies in every aspect of his work. Cape Winelands Airport is fortunate to have George on board for shared success! WestJet has made notable strides in supporting Indigenous communities, including partnerships with Indigenous Tourism Alberta to boost local businesses and create employment opportunities. While these efforts are commendable, there’s room for growth. WestJet can deepen its commitment by integrating Indigenous narratives directly into future campaigns, and my hope is that this brand campaign recognizes Indigenous voices ensuring these stories remain at the forefront of their brand. Learn more about the ITA ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gYfRzYbE Comparatively, Air Canada has taken visible steps to advance Indigenous participation, most notably by operating an all-Indigenous flight crew, which was a groundbreaking initiative celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day. This initiative highlighted the achievements of Indigenous employees and set a strong example for how national brands can lead by action in promoting diversity and inclusion. Check it out ➡️ https://lnkd.in/g3KqCs8X Both airlines have shown their commitment, but continuous integration of Indigenous voices can help solidify their roles as leaders in fostering reconciliation across Canada. #ReconciliationInAction #IndigenousTourism #DiversityAndInclusion #EconomicReconciliation #IndigenousVoices #TravelWithPurpose #WestJet #AirCanada

Well said Jane Stanbury. Nothing beats a face-to-face networking environment, especially when it comes to discussing and debating emerging or resurging technologies and infrastructure. 💸 Amphibious aircraft are evocative of a bygone era when flying boats were the mainstay of luxury air travel. So, what happened to these aircraft and why does amphibious aviation make sense again? 🛫 Where do amphibious aircraft sit in the global network? 🛫 How will these aircraft revolutionise regional connectivity and what is the opportunity for operators? 🛫 How sustainable are they? 🛫 What does the infrastructure on the water look like and what will passengers expect? 🛫 What regulatory issues can we expect? ... All of the above and more will be up for discussion at the Future Opportunities for Seaplanes and Amphibious Aviation event taking place in Venice on 20 March. I'll be moderating a panel looking at the ground (or perhaps floating) infrastructure that's required to support amphibious aviation. So, do let me know if you're attending, or if not, what you think the future holds for amphibious aircraft? The sum of the parts... ...is greater than the whole, reputedly said Aristotle. To my mind, this encapsulates the value of conferences. Individually we all have thoughts, ideas and strategies we adhere to. Our systems and methodologies work, but maybe there's a way to rethink them, improve or enhance them, and that only comes happens when you bring together open minds to discuss and debate these subjects. The first-ever Future Opportunities for Seaplanes and Amphibious Aviation event is providing a platform for this burgeoning aviation sector. We have a stellar lineup of speakers who are being moderated by industry legends. 🙏 Thank you to Puja Mahajan Tim Huppler Charles Porteous Chloe Greenbank for moderating our panels and galvanising our expert speakers. Aer Lingus will take off from Dublin Airport to #Nashville in April 2025, becoming the carrier's 18th destination in North America (so far). The 3,394 nautical mile route will operate four times weekly on the A321XLR. It will seemingly join Minneapolis in gaining the Irish carrier’s XLRs, although the route list will obviously increase. It means Nashville will now have three long-haul airlines, clearly showing how important incentives have been. First, British Airways began operating from London Heathrow to Nashville in May 2018; it runs daily on the 777/787. Then, in September 2024, Icelandair revealed Keflavik-Nashville flights, with a four times weekly 737 MAX 8 service starting in May 2025. There might have been four airlines. In mid-September, German leisure carrier Discover appeared set to launch Frankfurt-Nashville flights in 2025 but then backtracked. The Dublin-Nashville point-to-point market saw 25,000 roundtrip passengers in the year to July, but it'll be easy to stimulate with non-stop flights and strong promotions on both ends. However, as usual, Aer Lingus will also attract passengers connecting to/from the UK and continental Europe, benefiting from US clearance in Dublin. Since Dublin will have Aer Lingus flights to Las Vegas in October 2024 (87,000 roundtrip indirect passengers) and Delta to Detroit next summer (29,000), Nashville is the Irish capital's fourth-largest remaining unserved US destination. It comes after Phoenix (35,000), Raleigh Durham (31,000), and Austin (31,000). james@simpleflying.com, mejamespearson@hotmail.com #airlines #airports #aviation
