There are short days and long; the moon has its periods of waning and waxing.

Apart from the giveaway, I use my IG account to share about war and military service, my book, and to explore the psychological experiences of veterans, particularly as it relates to how military and wartime service changes us in ways that we need to better appreciate. About my book: “Odysseus and the Oar”examines the Odyssey from an archetypal perspective, comparing the images of this ancient myth to the dreams of modern veterans, while seeking to understand the aims of the unconscious as it attempts to help veterans rediscover themselves and heal after war and military service. Spoiler alert: what we learn from appreciating an archetypal perspective is that many challenges faced by veterans are not trauma-based, and therefore those particular challenges cannot be successfully treated with trauma treatments—hence why trauma treatments tend not to perform well with most veterans, and why veterans continue to struggle in specific ways even if they do make headway against trauma symptoms. My book introduces veterans and those who care for them to new ways of understanding the challenges of veterans and how to navigate them.
