The Concierge test Technique During one of my personal study over the festive season, I learnt about the concierge test technique as one of the techniques for both User research and discovery ideation techniques and how PMs can utilize it for effective product development. Applying the concierge test technique In the journey of developing our latest product helped us understand the core needs of our users. we took a personalized approach, providing a concierge-like service to a select group of early users. This hands-on engagement allowed us to dive deep into their experiences, understand pain points, and gather real-time feedback. 🤝✨ The concierge test proved invaluable in shaping our product strategy. By offering a tailored experience, we gained profound insights, which enabled us to refine features before a full-scale launch. 🚀 Embracing this dynamic and cost-effective method has undoubtedly elevated our user-centric design process as well as help my team to Adopt innovative ways in building products that truly resonate with our users! 🌟🔍 Happy new week to all the PMs kicking it hard in your pursuit 💪 #ProductManagement #UserExperience #InnovationJourney #usercentereddesign #userresearch

There are hundreds of different philosophies regarding product discovery, and there is (unfortunately) no consensus Heck, even the terminology is different depending on the role! -> Founders talk about "market research", "the mom test", and "ICPs” -> UX Designers & UXRs talk about "user research", "personas", and "research panels” -> Product Managers & Product Designers talk about "discovery", "feature requests", and "opportunity trees” Nobody seems to agree on "the right way to do it"; it's either very scrappy or too academic. However, there is a good middle ground that works for 80% of product teams, bringing 80% of the benefits for 20% of the effort. Sound interesting? I call it "pragmatic customer discovery", and that's what we used to grow lemlist to $25M ARR (for real) I’ve described this approach in this Product Courier edition with Toni Dos Santos and Lucas Nilsson Link in the comment 👇
