Please pause to share of a moment of deep gratitude with me. Gratitude for joining an incredible team of leaders. People who aren't afraid to shake the status quo. Who see every person with intellectual and developmental disabilities as an unique individual with dreams and life goals. Shout out to Emily Kang Cantrell, Amal Bennani Grabinski, Mary Rostad, Mary Stevenson (she/her/hers), Tori Muzyk, and many more! Gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to an over 80 year legacy at PROVAIL. Gratitude for healthy workplace culture, where I feel comfortable enough to wear my new favorite shoes! #vans #wehavefun Gratitude for the space to continue to advocate for people with disabilities, so we can live full and joyous lives. Gratitude to work in a space that is actively rooting out and addressing ableism (yes, we can help you do this, too!). If all this gratitude resonates with you, then send me a DM and let's talk about how your organization can partner with PROVAIL, and work to better support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. #InclusionMatters

Meet Madi! I'd like to use this unintentional office twinning moment to introduce our Community Partnerships Manager, Madison Johnson. Madi joined PROVAIL in April, bringing eight years of experience in nonprofit leadership, most recently with Type 1 United where she served as Executive Director. In this new role, Madi is focused on building relationships with business leaders, school districts, and marginalized communities in South King County and Pierce County, two of the newer areas we are serving. Madi's expertise and passion are just what we need as we work to reach and support diverse populations. If you want to learn more about our 80+ year history of fostering inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, please reach out to us. We'd love to tell you more about our Mobility & Communication, Employment Services, and Home & Lifestyle programs, and see how we can work together to create pathways to inclusion. #InclusionMatters #TogetherWeGrow

Advancing access, diversity, equity, and inclusion in nonprofits and philanthropy is crucial for creating a fair and just society. 🌍 Here are a few ways we can make a difference: 1. Education: Provide training on ADEI principles to staff and volunteers. 📚 2. Representation: Ensure diverse voices are honored, valued, and included in decision-making processes. 🗣️ 3. Support: Offer resources, affinity spaces, and mentorship for historically marginalized groups. 🤝🏾 4. Transparency: Be open about your ADEI goals and progress. 🔍 Share your thoughts on how we can further these goals! #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #equitysings #BlackBoiJoy #DiversityMatters #DEI #Inclusion

Drag story time? Sick. Just like the whole organization Family and Children's Services of the Waterloo Region. Do you also approve of the medical by Family and Children's Services of the Waterloo Region , Daryl? You can find examples in CTV W5's Dubious Diagnosis.
I am proud to work at Family and Children's Services of the Waterloo Region- not only is coming to work as your authentic self, accepted but it is encouraged! As well FACS Waterloo does not only support its employees but the whole entire Waterloo Regional community as well. Today we had Drag Story time for children and children at heart. Special thanks to Victor Santiago, our organizing team and special performer Kasha Czech. Together we are all stronger with our differences! Tough work can be fun, complexity brings with it innovation, collaboration is motivating - that's what every day feels like as I sit in a unique position as the AmeriCorps #Bridging and #Democracy Fellow. The work we're advancing in partnership with so many giants is of great consequence, not just for the field of national service but for our country as a whole. I believe when we lean into hard conversations, not with the expectation of 100% agreement or compromise, but of shared understanding through deep empathic listening, we grow. Our pathways towards solutions grow, our capacity to articulate the nuances grows, and our willingness to be "yes / and" leaders also grows. It's with deep gratitude for so many incredible partners we work with directly and for the many more that we have yet to meet who are also doing the hard and impactful work. America's Service Commissions, BridgeUSA, Civic Health Project, CoGenerate (Formerly Encore.org), The Greater Good Science Center, Interfaith America , Service Year Alliance, and Convergence Center for Policy Resolution Bridging Images from several of our Partners: Interfaith Enrichment Corps, Lead For America, Move for America, Upstate Greenways & Trails Alliance, UServeUtah https://lnkd.in/e6r5e5cf

Retired CEO, Chairman Nucor Corporation January 2014, Chairman Emeritus Jan.2014 November 1982–January 2014 Nucor Corporation
Well done
The partnership we’ve developed with the Carolina Youth Coalition and their Community Cup has quickly become one of the most meaningful experiences in my career. The CYC is dedicated to nurturing and propelling high-achieving, under-resourced students through college. Their work in the Charlotte community is truly incredible. As someone who walked in similar shoes growing up in Philadelphia, I deeply understand how much an organization like this can impact lives. The Community Cup is just the beginning of the day for the CYC. Following this, they will join us for the Charlotte Independence Hispanic Heritage Night match against the Richmond Kickers. #WeAreCLT | #EveryDreamNeedsATeam

🌟 Civic Leadership: The Key to Achieving Social Change! 🌟 A recent dive into the invaluable role of civic leadership in fostering civic engagement and advocating for social change got me reflecting on how profoundly impactful such initiatives can be. Civic leadership goes beyond political positions—it's about empowering citizens to take charge and make a difference in their communities. From my own experiences, whether it's organizing a local cleanup or leading a community forum, the skills and connections developed through civic engagement are irreplaceable. Each action, no matter how small, builds towards a collective strength capable of monumental transformations. The article reminded me of historical movements like the Civil Rights Movement and Women's Suffrage. These movements were driven by citizens who stood up, led by example, and weren't afraid to demand change. Their leadership reshaped societies! 💬 So, how can you become a more active civic leader in your community? Start by volunteering or joining local advocacy groups. Remember, every small effort counts! 👏 Also, why not share your experiences or thoughts on how civic leadership has influenced your community? Let's inspire each other to make a difference! Join the conversation by commenting below or sharing this post! Let’s empower and learn from one another to foster strong, vibrant communities. 🔗✨ #CivicLeadership #SocialChange #CommunityEngagement #Volunteering #LeadershipDevelopment #CivicEngagement #Bethechange #KirkMayes https://lnkd.in/gZUETjQV
