According to the United Nations Environment Programme, every minute one million plastics are sold in the world. while as many as 500 billion are discarded into the environment annually, with just nine percent of them recycled, posing a severe threat to biodiversity. Young Cameroonians (#ThinkGreen) seems to have found an innovative solution to the country’s sprawling plastic problem and rising cement prices, #Bottles2bricks. Bottles2bricks is an eco friendly intiative to collect discarded plastics bottles fill them with soil or trash and use them as bricks to creat beautiful and useful structures thereby slowing the effects of climate change. Building with plastics bottles to create sustainable beautiful structures has become a reality not only in CAMEROON ( Mbalmayo, Yagoua) but in TAZANIA( O’Brien School for the Maasai) too. It has been a remarkable journey of transformation. #ThinkGreen To learn more about this initiative, please visit👇🏾 https://lnkd.in/ejcGnXrZ https://lnkd.in/g2wrzGzQ
