"Tennis elbow" Tennis elbow is a condition where the tendons in your elbow become irritated or damaged, causing pain. This usually happens because of repetitive motions, such as gripping or twisting the arm, which can strain the tendons on the outside of your elbow. Even though it's called "tennis elbow," you don’t have to play tennis to get it—any activity that involves repetitive arm movements can lead to it. I tore my ACL, which required reconstructive knee surgery while going from a middle Yeop Chagi to a high Yeop Chagi during Taekwondo. Here are the top three things that I learned from my injury. 1. Your Organization is only as strong as the people in it. I now have a new appreciation for the adage, 'If you want to go fast, go along. If you want to go far, go together.' Having a geographically dispersed team of highly skilled and knowledgeable Colleagues has allowed me to focus on my recovery while my Colleagues continue to keep things going. 2. "Done is better than perfect." I used to cringe when I heard that saying because it felt like an excuse for being a slacker. However, perfectionism takes a lot of time and resources that could be better spent. The goal should be to ensure a project is done on time within the defined agreements and/or specifications instead of perfectionism. 3. Ensure your body stays aligned when quickly changing stances while sparing to ensure you don't tear your ACL because injuries are tough.

This study🥋is about mechanisms of #aclinjury in #judo and reveals differences in injury mechanisms in comparison to #handball #football ⚽️ #volleyball and #basketball 🏀! In contrast to these sports a direct attack on the knee was the most common injury mechanism observed. Valgus distortion appears to be the most important component of the mechanism of injury. With this knowledge, ‚modified defence reactions‘ for specific judo techniques can be developed to reduce the injury risk. I had a surgery. My 2024 started with a broken arm. I was playing Badminton & flipped over on the ground. My left upper arm broke & it’s a fracture. It felt like my goals were shattered. But I won’t give up. Slowly but steadily I'm going to work on them. Maybe it’ll take longer, but I'm not wasting time. I only have 1 main goal for 2024. The only New Year resolution that's the basis of everything. Do what I love & maintain consistency in it. That’s it. Lesson learned: Always wear shoes while playing any sport. #2024resolutions #newyearresolutions #personaldevelopment
