Career Educator l Coach l Mentor l Connecting college students and employers through experiential learning and entry-level opportunities
It's Engineering Week! Let me tell you why I love working with engineering students. Please share your why in the comments section. 1. They are smart (duh). 2. They typically possess a great sense of humor (from dry wit to profound observations). 3. They are artists who found a way to get paid for it, i.e. they are creative! 4. They harness a multiplicity of disciplines with which to create/make things. 5. Some are motivated to study engineering in order to financially support their future families. (I don't know why, but I like that.) 6. Many possess a curiosity most of the rest of us just do not, so they are fun to talk to! 7. Cars, busses, planes, trains, rockets, shuttles, drones, robots, batteries, washing machines/dryers(!), dishwashers, highways, safety lighting, TOYS!, movie special effects, electronic games (electronic everything), phones, machinery and mills working everywhere... enough said? 8. It is a mindset of motivation and hard work. (I hear it gets easier?) 9. Here's to all the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University #COE students! Have fun this week with the challenges!

"EVERY STEPS MATTER" This particular photo 📸 takes me back into the past when I first joined the workforce as a graduate mechanical engineer straight from Unitech. I guess this photo was taken sometimes in 2018 up in the mountains of Southern Highlands Province. I initially started as a graduate engineer 🎓 in 2016. Every little steps compounds over time into a journey. I could barely understand what I should do at first. I couldn't get into my mind the bigger picture of me being part of a team. I can only visualized better internally of the approach to get me across another hitch. To cut the story short, I came out of the cage I was imprisoned in. It was all created in my mind. The fear to get out there and prove to others that I can do better 💯. One thing I always remind myself is that, " I was offered an opportunity because I can do it. There is potential in me to do better than what my thoughts are telling me. if I can survive the academic hurdles, I can too with the real-world hurdles. It was me that applied for this job and was accepted. If it was me than it is me alone that can do this". Those were the positive self-affirmative words that chance the course of my career. It was all played in the mind. If you can conditioned your mind with calmness and positivity, you can be in control of you future. ##growthmindset
