Guess who’s at the top of the leaderboard? 😀 I competed in the general trivia quiz this afternoon and had an exciting come from behind victory! 🏆 While it was all in good fun, it got me thinking about the role competition plays in our professional lives. 🏅 Striving for Excellence Competing encourages us to push our boundaries and strive for excellence. Whether it's a trivia contest or a challenging project at work, competition fuels our drive to improve and succeed. 🧠 Continuous Learning Trivia contests require a wide range of knowledge and quick thinking, just like our professional roles. Embracing competition means constantly learning and staying sharp. It keeps us on our toes and helps us stay ahead in our field. 💪 Resilience and Adaptability Winning isn't always easy. It requires resilience to overcome setbacks and adaptability to new challenges. These traits are invaluable in our careers, helping us navigate the ups and downs with grace and determination. 🎯 Goal Setting and Achievement Setting goals and working towards them is a key aspect of both competition and professional success. What a successful Business Development Forum! Fuelco Australia's team had an exhilarating couple of days filled with insightful discussions, engaging presentations, and strategic planning sessions spanning across all departments. The first two days were dedicated to delving deep into pertinent topics, refining strategies, and fostering innovative ideas to drive the company forward. But it wasn't all work and no play! I’m in the Same job playing the same sport, what’s changed? I want to get better at it. How do I achieve better performance? Do you ever notice when you try to enhance your skills that your performance actually degrades at first? Perhaps your work environment is changing, new people are onboarding and you want to strengthen your execution skills. Take golf as an example, this isn’t my first lesson. Just as with skill development at work, things we are not as naturally talented at need not be viewed as weaknesses, it just takes more effort to achieve them.
