Curious about how Asahi is turning carbon zero promise into action?   The Asahi Group has committed to an ambitious target of achieving net zero across our value chain by 2040. A crucial part of our strategy is the active utilization of renewable energy.   💡 In Europe, we've signed Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPAs) in seven countries to use 100% renewable electricity in our Europe breweries by 2025.   💡 In Australia, we've signed our third Physical Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in New South Wales in July 2024. Under the agreement, we will purchase enough energy to power the equivalent of 4,400 homes annually.   💡 In Japan, all 31 of our plants have already been switched to 100% purchased electricity from renewable energy in April 2023. From 2022 to 2024, we've installed 15,000+ solar panels at five plants, leveraging the PPA model for ensure a stable supply of renewable energy.   💡 In Southeast Asia, specifically in Malaysia, we've achieved 100% green electricity utilization as of 2022, courtesy of solar power and the Green Electric Tariff (GET) in one of our plants. We were recently honored with the prestigious silver prize in the renewable energy category at The ESG Positive Impact Awards.   We're not just setting ambitious targets; we're actively pursuing them.
