Imagine your job is to schedule shifts for nurses at a hospital. In the simplest case, a nursing shift manager can fill out a schedule for 10 employees and 10 shifts over 28 days. That’s 10!=3,628,800 different schedules for a single day! Then that number to the power of 28 is … a lot. It’s amazing that a human can sit down for two days and complete this considering PTO, day offs, shift preference, sharing evening shifts etc. What’s the best way to automate this?
