We've been saying for a while that it's time to upgrade the traditional Job Fair - and this year we're doing it. Last year, 7,000 people attended the Wembley Jobs Fair, so this year we're embracing mobile and social media to engage an even larger and more diverse audience. The Take Your Shot Zone is a game-changing digital experience, designed to upgrade engagement with businesses - and opportunities - at careers events. It's time to say goodbye to: - Wasted Resources - Pop-up banners - Excessive recycling - Expensive print runs - Tablecloths... And say hello to: - Engaging Digital Content - Interactive Experiences - Exchange of Data - Priceless Insights - Innovation! Thanks go to White Light for partnering and providing Slenky with technical production support, and to Brent Council for recognising the value of adopting digital technology to help modern and diverse audiences engage with businesses. A single Shot can change a life. For more details or to request the event brochure, message us on LinkedIn or email hello@slenky.com. #TakeYourShot #WembleyJobFair #DigitalEngagement #CareerOpportunities #FutureOfWork #Slenky #JobsFair #tech #smartphone #socialmedia #brandcommunications #Marketing #skills #talent #diversity #inclusive #HR

Job Fairs Aren’t Easy! And when I say that, I'm not standing in the shoes of an organizer. Although, massive respect to those who put in months of effort to bring recruiters, resources, and job seekers together under one roof. My perspective is that of an attendee who returns home with a bag full of stories and lessons after each event. The PICS Mega job fair I attended yesterday was a sight to behold, with around 7,000 attendees making their way through the venue. The diversity was striking - people from all walks of life, each with their unique background in terms of ethnicity, culture, education, and professional experience. It was a melting pot of aspirations and shared struggles. The conversations I had were eye-opening. We delved into the challenges of the job market, the struggle to make ends meet, and the personal journeys that brought each individual to the fair. It was a mix of resilience and despair, hope and skepticism. What stood out to me was the preparedness - or lack thereof - among the job seekers. Some came ready to engage, armed with questions and a clear understanding of what they were looking for. These individuals stood out, making the most of their opportunity to connect with potential employers. On the other end of the spectrum, there were those who seemed to place the blame on external factors like the economy, without taking a proactive stance in their job search. An interesting trend was the digital savvy of some attendees who sought me out on LinkedIn for a connection or feedback on their resumes. It's a reminder of how intertwined our professional lives have become with our digital identities. So, what's the takeaway from all this? It's simple: Job fairs are a microcosm of the broader job market, reflecting the hopes, challenges, and dynamics at play. They underscore the importance of preparation, the value of a positive mindset, and the critical role of adaptability in today's ever-changing job landscape. To the job seekers, I say this: Utilize each opportunity to its fullest. A job fair is more than just a chance to hand out resumes; it's a platform to network, learn, and position yourself in the best light possible. And to the employers and recruiters out there, remember the human stories behind each resume. It's not just about filling positions; it's about building connections and fostering growth. Let's keep the conversation going. What has been your experience with job fairs? Share your stories and insights below! #JobFairs #CareerDevelopment #Networking #JobSearchJourney #ProfessionalGrowth #jobsearch #jobsearchcanada

Jobseekers, about those “job fairs”…. If your not a fan of them as you don’t think you’d get hired at the fair? Well you could be right!!! More often than not very less actual hiring might happen on tho spot (maybe more in skills/trades)… But please remember what’s important at job fairs is the people you might meet, the connections you make, the budding relationships and expanding your network! All this increases your “job search resources”! > You’ll add more people who will know your looking for a job > You’ll add more recruiters and hiring managers who are actively sourcing for roles > You’ll add more people who might recommend or refer you to a job you never knew about So do not discount job fairs just because the odds of getting hired on the spot is low… So attend them whenever possible… Just make sure it’s in your field/space or industry of course! #jobfairs #jobfair #jobseekers #jobsearch #networking #network #connections #relationships #referrals

Why Do Job Fairs Advertise Job Openings But Not Hire? Explore! Answers: https://lnkd.in/gXBtFNdu #JobSearch #CareerFair #JobHunting So, I just got back from a “Jobs Fair,” and let me tell you—it was a bit of a letdown. 😩 Picture this: they had set up booths for about 15 to 20 companies, and not a single one was actively hiring! Instead, I found them promoting: Employment services 🛠️ Volunteer opportunities 🙌 A few training courses 📚 The only glimmer of hope came from an IT services company, but even there, when I handed over my resume, they barely glanced at it. When I asked if they were hiring, the answer was a flat-out “no.” Talk about frustrating! Honestly, it felt like a colossal waste of my time. It got me thinking about why these pain points happen at job fairs: **Mismatched expectations:** Many attendees come looking for job openings, but the reality is that some companies are just there to network or promote training programs. **Lack of genuine opportunities:** Employers may set up booths without having actual openings, which leads to disappointment for job seekers. **Limited representation:** Some industri...
