AVL is going to the moon. This is huge. Starting with automotive powertrain engineering over 75-years ago, we're now fully immersed in xEV development, we designed and built the 4-tons of battery cartridges and BMS for Eviation's Alice, we're working with eVTOL and marine applications, and now we're going to the moon. All of this suggests that we can help you with your mobility requirements, too. How can we help you reach your mobility goals? #avl #ast #virtualtwin #simulation
It is with great excitement that we share the Moon RACER Team has been awarded a NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Lunar Terrain Vehicle contract to support the Artemis Campaign. Led by Intuitive Machines, the contract tasks the global team partners, including AVL, Boeing, Michelin, and Northrop Grumman, with creating a feasibility roadmap to develop and deploy a Lunar Terrain Vehicle on the Moon using Intuitive Machines’ Nova-D cargo-class lunar lander. 🚀🌚 Learn more about the project here: https://bit.ly/4adRWnf #LunarMobility #NASA #LTV #ReimaginingMobility

WHERE FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION Human space flight is dangerous, but space exploration is worth the risk. Lessons learnt from Space flight failures (NASA) Apollo1, Apollo 13, Challenger, and Columbia space shuttle tragedies: -technical redesign of flight systems -comprehensive testing -enhanced risk assessment -improved training of flight crew and support personnel -open communication and open door policies -a culture that encourages divergent views (Courtesy NASA) These lessons are equally applicable to Boeing and other airlines that have faced flight disasters

Did you know that NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration has a long history of supporting advancements in Wildland Fire Management? Attached is a presentation I delivered to DOI leadership in 2019, highlighting three significant advancements in aerial firefighting in which NASA played a key role in fielding. NASA continues that support today with initiatives like the Advanced Capabilities for Emergency Response Operations (ACERO - https://lnkd.in/eac_B5pi) and FireSense (https://lnkd.in/e-ABf8Qq). Hard work and determination pays off
That's a wrap for tonight's coverage of Alpha #FLTA005 #NoiseOfSummer. After expected deployment, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's CubeSat teams are now awaiting acquisition of signal...AND the Firefly team successfully completed a second stage relight and nominal plane change following deployment. Congratulations to the entire mission team!

Responsibility, trust and commitment are the three words for which I am valued in my professional life
Technology is colorless and value-neutral - we at MW technologies have also incorporated this as a model into our philosophy.
Albert Johns examines a plug nozzle for the Air Force’s advanced manned strategic aircraft in the 8x6 Supersonic Wind Tunnel at NASA's Lewis Research Center in May 1967. Johns became a renowned expert on inlets and nozzles over his 40-year career and was recognized in 1998 as one of NASA’s Superstars of Modern Aeronautics. In honor of #BlackHistoryMonth, NASA Glenn is highlighting employees who have contributed at our center throughout the years. What happen to Starliner after near a month attached to ISS? “Nasa and Boeing may not have considered the worsening of the leak in space before launch? This is something that Nasa and Boeing probably may have done in advance. Of course cancel the launch would have been tremendously expensive, as it would have involved taking the rocket off the launch pad and taking the propulsion system out of the spacecraft. Safety is the priority for the crew and Nasa have to avoid what have happen to the Challenger crew. So, we all ask what the next choise for Nasa to do to return rhe crew on earth ?

"Starliner has remained at the ISS. Its mission, known as Crew Flight Test (CFT), was extended beyond the 10-day nominal timeline, then extended again beyond 45 days when the batteries (the main duration-limiting factor) were behaving better than expected." ⬇️ "Boeing Starliner's two astronauts knew to expect the unexpected when they took off on the spacecraft's first crewed mission on June 5." Data visualization is wonderful (truly a "wonder") on many levels: -- marvel at the simple aesthetic beauty of temperature differences -- see and understand the interplay among the physical phenomena associated with water -- realize we're all just tiny, tiny parts of much larger worlds #whyilovescience
The complex interplay between coastal flow, the Gulf of Mexico "Loop Current" (dark red) and its eddies (bright red) is shown in this night-time sea-surface temperature scene, seen by the Copernicus #Sentinel3 Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer (SLSTR) on 29 March 🌡️🌊 (With NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Blue Marble land overlay for context.)
