Did you take games to school to play in the days before Christmas holiday? Well, even as adults we tend to mix some fun in with the work in the week running up to the big day. Lots of workplaces have Christmas Jumper Day, but have you ever tried Candy Cane Day or Christmas Movie Character Day? (and, yes, Die Hard IS a Christmas movie). The holiday season is upon us! 🎄 And, if you know Envol, you know we are #FestiveAF – we LOVE the holidays (and any reason to celebrate, tbh). ☃️ Over the past couple years, many employers (ourselves included) have switched to a remote-first workplace model. So, we’ve had to take many of our celebrations to the virtual world of Zoom! 💻 Today, we wanted to share some of our favourite ways to celebrate and share the festive cheer together, without actually being together IRL: 🍪 Create a cook(ie) book: Get your team to send in their favourite holiday cookie recipes and compile them into a PDF to share with everyone! Practical AND yummy. 🏠 Gingerbread house decorating: You don’t have to LIKE gingerbread to create a winter wonderland-inspired gingerbread house! Get your team together on Zoom, start the festive music, and enjoy decorating together! (Yes, houses falling apart mid-decorating is inevitable, but also part of the fun. 🤪) 🎁 Gift exchanges: Secret gift exchanges are one of our favourite things to do during this time of year as a team. Set a price limit, use an online app to organize name-drawing (we like Elfster), and choose a date for your virtual exchange! 🎉 Round-robin sharing of special traditions: There’s something so magical about sharing holiday traditions with others. We love to get together and share something special that we like to do every year with friends or family to get into the holiday spirit! Who knows… you might even get inspired to start a new tradition!
