💡 NEARVET's Community of Practice (CoP): Where collaboration, innovation and real-world impact of applied research in VET take place. 🔍 At NEARVET, our CoP workshops are focused on a practical approach to applied research in VET, addressing real-world challenges across various levels, from individual employers to national policy makers, and encompassing a broad spectrum of participants from the VET community to ensure comprehensive and effective learning experiences. 🎯 NEARVET transnational and local CoPs are aimed to act as powerful connectors, bridging professionals from VET, business, and research spheres. By fostering structured and facilitated environments, both digital and in person, we aim to enhance systematic connections among stakeholders and advance capacities for applied research projects. At transnational CoPs, experts and VET practitioners will implement project-specific planned actions, such as developing learning materials for the Digital Hub, planning and steering of the AR competition and seminars, and co-produce content for the NEARVET research journal. Veridian Ventures Partner Dan Schonfeld recently had the privilege of participating in a panel discussion on structuring and growing Angel Syndicates, as part of the UK Business Angels Association’s recent Angel Group Symposium, held in London on April 16th. The discussion was both engaging and informative, and the audience contributed some great questions and insights. 𝐃𝐚𝐧'𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬: 1) The UK angel investment ecosystem is vibrant and active, despite recent market conditions and regulatory actions. 2) The UKBAA is playing a key role in organising and mobilising angel investment activities, and has been quite successful in making sure our view as a community are heard and taken into account by the government, as evidenced in the recent decision to reverse the changes to investor certification criteria.   3) There is wide agreement in the community that government policy is both confusing and contradictory, trying to encourage angel investing on the one hand while at the same time driving the market – almost forcibly – towards consolidation, in a way which makes it harder for new angels and new angel syndicates to thrive. 4) There is growing involvement by angels based outside of the traditional areas of London and the South-East. 5) The ecosystem is also increasingly professionalising, with growing use of technology to streamline operations and processes. 6) There is a growing number of options for anyone who wants to start angel investing, based on region, gender, sector focus and more – there have never been more opportunities. 7) There is significant benefit for an individual to invest via a syndicate as opposed to on their own, in terms of deal flow, access to opportunities, professional support and education, and higher quality due diligence. 🌟 Exciting News Alert! 🌟 🚀 Embarking on a Remarkable Journey I'm thrilled to share that from December 29, 2023, to January 27, 2024, our exceptional team, the "Abstract Alchemists," led by Varun Singh Thakur, in which I, Yashwani Sharma, had the privilege to participate, took part in the prestigious "Symposio," the flagship event of Revelation'24. Despite the challenges of the virtual environment, our team embraced the online format with unwavering determination and enthusiasm. 👨💻 Diverse Expertise, Innovative Thinking Comprised of Varun Singh Thakur (Team Lead), a B.Tech student in Computer Science and Engineering, and myself, Yashwani Sharma, pursuing a B.Sc in Biotechnology, we embodied a unique blend of diverse expertise and innovative thinking. 📝 Navigating Through Rigorous Stages The event unfolded in two intense stages. Initially, we submitted an abstract outlining our groundbreaking research, followed by a comprehensive full paper, showcasing the depth and breadth of our work. 🏆 Securing a Coveted Spot in the Second Round Our submission, titled "Eco Harmony Aqua Revive System: Innovative Approaches to Combat Chromium(VI) Contamination in Aquatic Ecosystems," received accolades and secured a coveted spot in the second round. Out of more than 70 competing teams, only 15 advanced to this stage, a testament to the quality of our work and the rigor of our research methodology. 💡 Presenting Innovative Solutions In the second round, we presented our paper, providing us with the opportunity to showcase our innovative solution and engage with a discerning panel of judges and fellow participants. 🎓 Continuing to Inspire Although the event was conducted online, the connections made and lessons learned during "Symposio" will continue to inspire us as we strive to push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation in our academic and professional endeavors. #Symposio #Revelation24 #AbstractAlchemists #Innovation #Research #Teamwork #VirtualEvent #SIBMBangalore #Leadership #TeamLead 🚀💡🔬📚
