Last week I participated in a panel "IVDs - how will the future of diagnostics ecosystems change?" at the #MedTechForum in Vienna. Together with other panellists Daniela Delledonne, Prateek Natani and Oliver Bisazza, we discussed the current state of the diagnostic market, considered its strongest trends, and looked at the areas for key technologies and sector evolution. My takeaways from the panel are below:         🔵 The health systems must focus on building resilience, investing in prevention & healthcare workforce retention, and ensuring timely access to care post-Covid-19         🔵 We see a growing demand for developing new diagnostic tests from both customers and patients, particularly to fight antimicrobial resistance (AMR)         🔵 Point-of-care testing (POCT) testing requires investment, but it saves costs in the long run by reducing hospital stays and ensuring appropriate antibiotic use         🔵 The sustainability laws require manufacturers to do better and deliver solutions by lowering carbon footprint for healthcare providers Exciting times ahead of us and so pleased to be part of the journey. This new service looks like a well intended repository to me with some good graphics and flow diagrams to simplify existing regulations and guidance. However…… There is still a long way to go in harmonising NHS standards and compliance between International Standards (ISO 14971 & ISO 27001) to make the transition easier for medical device manufacturers. Where possible, when we support clients at 8foldGovernance we try to harmonise documentation to prevent duplication and territorial silos of policies and procedures. In addition, I am not sure if the service sign posts developers to the risks of crossing into a stand alone regulatory activity - which the CQC discuss in their own regulated activity guidance.  I have discussed this is a blog previously published - https://lnkd.in/dbKvEzXa Hopefully this is just the start of a very useful resource! #jointhe8fold
