MedShare and partners such as Philips North America continue to address birth equity challenges and strengthen care in underserved communities through MedShare's Safe Birth Initiative (SBI) -- helping to provide free and charitable clinics access to state-of-the-art technology and training that they would otherwise be unable to afford. These donations help improve clinical outcomes, enhance patient care, and reduce clinic costs. One such clinic, HEALing Community Center, was a recent recipient of a Philips ultrasound machine that will further enhance the diagnostic services provided through the clinic’s Women’s Health program. MedShare's Director of Biomedical Tech Services Eben Amstrong installed the equipment and trained the staff at the HCC, which breaks down economic, language, cultural, and geographic barriers that have long hindered healthcare access for the population it serves. The MedShare and Philips partnership is based on the core belief that – from seeing their babies for the first time on an ultrasound through giving birth – all moms deserve the same kind of maternity experience, prenatal care and state-of-the-art health technologies as those who have access to private health systems. Ventilator Mobile Donation Fellas Program in Collaboration with Premature Indonesia Foundation . . . Join us in a life-saving mission! Introducing the 'Ventilator Fellas Mobile Donation Program,' in partnership with the Premature Indonesia Foundation. In the wake of unprecedented global health challenges, the need for critical medical equipment has never been more pressing. Premature infants, particularly vulnerable to respiratory complications, require specialized care and support to thrive. The Ventilator Fellas Mobile Donation Program seeks to bridge this gap by providing access to essential medical resources, specifically ventilators, for premature infants in Indonesia. Ventilators play a crucial role in assisting newborns with respiratory distress, ensuring their fragile lungs receive the oxygen they need to survive and grow. However, many hospitals and healthcare facilities in Indonesia lack an adequate supply of ventilators, exacerbating the already daunting challenges faced by premature infants and their families. Why Mobile Ventilators? In our commitment to support premature babies' health and wellbeing, we recognize the critical need for mobile ventilators. These devices are vital in supporting the respiratory needs of premature infants, enabling life-saving therapy, medical screening, and facilitating safe hospital transfers. Our goal is to ensure that these vulnerable babies have access to the essential care they require, whenever and wherever they need it. Join Us in Making a Difference This initiative is more than just a campaign; it's a call to action for everyone who believes in making a strategic impact on the lives of premature babies and their families. By providing mobile ventilators, we're not just offering medical equipment; we're giving hope, support, and a fighting chance to countless newborns. We invite you to be a part of this noble cause. Your donation can help us equip NICUs with mobile ventilators, ensuring that every premature baby has the best possible start in life. To contribute, please visit: fellas.id/donasi Together, we can make a significant difference. Let's unite for the smallest among us and provide the support they desperately need. Thank you for your generosity and support. #FellasIndonesia #PrematureIndonesia #NICUSupport #MobileVentilators #Fundraising #Healthcare #SupportTheFuture

We are excited to share that we have officially launched the GE HealthCare Foundation today, a focused and ambitious initiative that builds from the company’s legacy in delivering access to healthcare to make a difference in the lives of patients in underserved communities. The GE HealthCare Foundation is a charitable organization, incorporated separately from GE HealthCare, with a mission to advance equitable access to precision healthcare. The GE HealthCare Foundation will fund the Colleague Matching Gifts program (US only in 2024), humanitarian aid for crises and disasters globally, and health-equity-focused grants to organizations that aim to make healthcare more accessible, personal, human and flexible. As a leader in our industry, it is critical that we play an active role in inspiring and pursuing meaningful change globally, and supporting and elevating access to healthcare in the communities that need it most. Following the example of GE including more than a century of making an impact on communities, education and diversity, our company is making philanthropy and social impact top priorities right from the start. The GE HealthCare Foundation’s work will initially focus on maternal health, and at launch, it will be making its first grants to dynamic global nonprofits committed to improving care for women and babies. Although we have seen progress in maternal healthcare, more work needs to be done to ensure all mothers have access to safe, high-quality care. https://lnkd.in/gxjTzrnP #gehealthcare

Sickle Cell Patient Advocate/Blogger/ Creative Writer at Joy2Endure/ Ambassador & Encourager at World Pulse. WILD Alumni. Goldin Global Fellow. Disability Inclusion Advocate. Powershift Inclusive Excellence (PIE).
DAY 4 Colours and fashion have been used for and continue to be an effective tool in causes. The colour awareness campaign for sickle cell which has become a yearly advocacy program for my work with sickle cell is much more than just dressing up and taking daily pictures. Not only does it try to shed more light on the realities of living with sickle cell, but it also tries to bring to the fore, some of the things we do to make the lives of those living with Sickle cell a little bit better daily. Some of which include; * Providing routine medicines to sickle cell warriors which is now a permanent feature of our work. ** Lending a hand now and again when the never ending calls for support come in to offset medical bills for some hard pressed warriors and care givers. *** Community educational outreach programs **** Skills acquisition programs for persons with sickle cell. We do not only believe in providing fish but we firmly believe in teaching others how to fish so that they can be able to take care of themselves, be independent, valuable members of the community with a chance to maximize their full potentials and hopefully, pay it forward to the next warrior in need they meet. It takes an empowered individual to empower another. We had to keep this program on hold after a pilot project due to health reasons and lack of funds. ***** Help with back to school resumptio, etc. These and many others are some of the things we do. This intense awareness campaign runs throughout June but our work and advocacy goes on all year round. Please support us so we can continue to reach out to not only support but also to impact others living with sickle cell. You can be a sponsor, a partner, or make a donation in kind or cash. Your support will go a long way as we keep advocating for people with sickle cell. Kindly reach out if your heart leads you to support our work. Thank you 🙏🏾 Let's keep on breaking the silence, stigma and discrimination around sickle cell. #BreakTheSilence #BeASickleCellVoice Joy2Endure

The Liberal Democrats have unveiled their manifesto, which strongly emphasises protecting the NHS and social care. It is a people-focused manifesto that prioritises individuals and sets aside egos. You can read all about their plan to give people a fair deal here: https://lnkd.in/ep_VsFvZ But how does that translate for charities that conduct research and provide medical care and support? The Brain Tumour Charity shares its own takeaway. The Liberal Democrats pledge to increase full-time equivalent GPs by 8,000, aiming for quicker appointments for all patients. They also propose a 10-year strategic diagnostic plan and a new Patients Charter. Addressing workforce challenges is crucial. #NHS #Healthcare #GPcapacity #PatientsRights Https://https://lnkd.in/eEGrjZvi
