Doctor Dollars The cost of virtual consultation with a primary care physician is $99. Seeing the same doctor in their office raises the cost of service to $170. If you go to an urgent-care center/clinic the cost to provide care rises to $185. But if you go to the emergency room it costs $2,700. As for primary-care doctor salaries, pediatricians earn $251,000/year, family medicine providers earn $255,000/year, and internal medicine pays $273,000/year. (Elliott Eisengerg)

Decisions, decisions, decisions... As a former emergency medicine paediatrician, I was constantly having to make clinical and management decisions. As a supervisor and educator, I also invested a lot of time helping others develop their decision-making skills both personally and professionally. Are you generally feeling 'stuck', navigating your way through a period of transition, or in the middle of a personal or professional crisis? Let me help guide your decision-making through reflecting on your personal stories. #decisions #decisionmaking #decisionmakingskills #decisionsupport #pause #reflect #pauseandreflect #reflectandgrow #reflectandlearn #behaviouralchange #storytelling #storytellingforbusiness #storytellingforchange #personalgrowth #personalgrowthjourney #personalgrowthanddevelopment #GetYourselfALalith #rebirth

Birth Injury, Pediatric, & Forensic Nurse Expert | Legal Nurse Consultant | Navigating Legal Waters with Clinical Compassion: Your Nurse Consultant, Your Advantage
🚑 Critical Healthcare Alert for Attorneys! 🌐 Today I was in class to obtain certification in trauma nurse core certification - TNCC. We talked about how statistics show, 20% of preventable deaths after a trauma, are from uncontrolled hemorrhages ("bleeding out.") As a Legal Nurse, I've witnessed the impact of undiagnosed hemorrhages post-trauma, leading to preventable deaths. 🩸⚠️ Let's raise awareness to ensure swift and accurate medical interventions. 🏥💡 Key Points: 1️⃣ Early Identification is Crucial: Timely recognition of hemorrhage signs is paramount. 🕰️🚨Did the team place a pelvic splint on the car accident victim with low blood pressure, who was cool, had weak and thready central pulses, and a negative FAST exam? Even if unsure, the pelvis and femurs are the two locations a person can lose large volumes of blood from and we know applying the split does not hurt. 2️⃣ Delayed Diagnosis = Delayed Care: Every moment counts! Legal professionals, be vigilant about pinpointing missed diagnoses that contribute to delays in critical care. ⏳⚖️ 3️⃣ Advocacy for Thorough Medical Assessment: Emphasize comprehensive evaluations after trauma to avoid oversight. 🔍💼 #stopthebleed is a national initiative to educate on the importance of doing just that. Death can be preventable! #PICU #traumanursing #genesislegalnurse #attorney

#DYK that there is a large gap in substance use disorder training within mainstream medical education? 😯 Despite addiction being acknowledged as an illness, only 1 in 4 physicians and nurse practitioners report receiving proper training. Let's work together to advocate for comprehensive education and support. #DannysRide #MedicalEducation #AddictionAwareness

Neonatal therapists value kindness and recognize the uniqueness of each tiny human. As infant-family advocates and clinicians, we strive to develop strong attributes of cultural humility by “recognizing and minimizing power differences, promoting respect, individual focus of not only the other but of the self, flexibility, making bias explicit, and as an ongoing life process (Yeager & Bauer-Wu, 2013). Foronda, C. (2020). A theory of cultural humility. Journal of Transcultural Nursing, 31(1), 7-12.
