National Inclusion Week 2023. Reflect. How inclusive is your organisation? Does your organisation have an EDI strategy in place? Do you know what it is? How much do you really understand about what it means to be an inclusive leader? Self-reflection and humility are the first steps to becoming an inclusive leader. It can be a difficult and uncomfortable step diving into your own lived experiences and bias exposure; however, it is one we should make if we are committed to inclusion. Eliminating our own biases is virtually impossible as having bias is part of our neurobiological make up. But becoming more aware of our own biases make us more open to inclusion. 🤔 What has been a turning point in your career regarding inclusion? ✔ For me, it has been reflecting on the parts of my identity which I have been hiding which I never realised I was hiding!

The 4th annual Diversity Summit at The College of New Jersey took place today. There was a lot to learn from the corporate representatives and staff who attended. We discussed how #inclusiveenvironments impact individual employees and entire organisations as a whole. I learned a lot about #workculture, #leadership, and commonly underappreciated aspects of #professionaldevelopment.
