You're in for a treat with this episode. Listen to two industry legends (Iris co-founders, Ian Millner and Claire Humphris) talk about their leap into entrepreneurialism. #marketing #agency #progressive #participation
This week, Ian Millner is joined by fellow Iris Co-Founder and CEO, Claire Humphris. After taking the jump to be Iris employee number 1, Claire talks through her early career and the opportunities you can create when you’re the person who puts their hand up to do the hard things. They then discuss the importance of creating your own luck, so much so that you make yourself indispensable, even when things seem against you. We learn how important the entrepreneurial spirit is when motivating teams to win pitches. From simply making a team believe they can win, to breaking world records and winning world-first projects like the London 2012 Olympic mascots, Ian and Claire discuss how this continues to drive success at Iris. It’s not one to miss! Be sure to take a listen on Spotify and Apple podcasts or via the link below🎙️ https://beacons.ai/eitw #EntrepreneursInTheWild #PodcastSeries

Thanks Connie for an amazing conversation about how we need to be #brave to truly create workplaces where employees feel connected, valued and where they can #flourish The Brave podcast has amazing resources for leaders, teachers and parents- I highly recommend you check it out! We need to be brave in our #hr and #leadership decisions to create healthy spaces because there's a lot of resistance to this. Leaders are fearful of what looking at how their spaces are doing might reveal through #employeeengagement surveys Employees are skeptical of yet another attempt to create change that feels like empty words. - They don't want empty promises. - They want to feel seen, heard and valued. We need to be brave to face what we're all thinking and facing with courage. Founder & CEO | Elevating Workforce Productivity through Neurodiversity & Inclusivity | Passionate about Human Behavior | Award-Winning Educator & Adventure Seeker
Absolutely! Connie Jakab, B.R.Ed , Debbie Lang Pearmain Get brave, get uncomfortable to allow for the necessary growth and strengthening to happen. Thank you - this sparks so much thought! To look at the unhealthy, ugly, unhelpful behaviors is a choice for growth - choosing to step into the space of vulnerability and awareness (the first step for change and a significant asset for top performing leaders). A step towards trust and rapport to be built leading to dedication, loyalty, engagement, retention thus heightened productivity. Influence versus authority. Influence lands better and also is a vehicle for developing skills in employees. RE - Massive labor market shortage. It's highly beneficial to create a space that can be "home" to the highly aware and productive folx who are high performers. Redirection and intolerance of behaviors that break down the trust, rapport and communication. Learning how to create an opportunity for discovery for these situations to create awareness and desire and educate on the explicit steps to take (because a lot of times folx just haven't learned prior how to act and navigate differently). Founder, House of Branovo (SMMA) | I help mid-sized Real Estate companies FIND, ATTRACT and KEEP loyal customers through Inbound Marketing.
One of the surest ways to win in life is to make it a habit of defeating your former self in the quest to reach a new level of capacity You do that through reinvention. In business, we call that adaptability, and that’s one thing all great companies have in common – the ability to reinvent and adapt. The same applies to an individual; whether in your career, business or even family, for you to stay relevant, you have got to constantly REINVENT. If you could retire from work today, what would you do with your time? Would you travel, spend more time with your families, volunteer or pursue a favorite hobby? Shawn explains in today's podcast. WATCH THE FULL VIDEO: https://lnkd.in/g2e2PxkQ

How often were you told in school to think about the lifestyle you want? Instead of thinking about the job or career? In college, I made an intentional decision to narrow down my career path based on the LIFESTYLE I desired - autonomy of time, flexible to work while traveling, etc. By prioritizing the lifestyle desire, I was able to figure out (earlier on), which work environments would be most aligned for me long-term.
