ISC 2024 Logistics Part 1: Hotels With the deadline of the 31st July for early bird registration rapidly approaching we will be looking at the logistics of attending ISC 2024 through a series of posts over the next week. It is a good time for hospitality businesses to ensure they have identified the events and occasions this year that may require a Temporary Event Notice (TEN). As of the 1 January 2024, a Premises’ TEN entitlement has reduced back to the pre-Covid levels of 15 TENs covering no more than 21 days. I’m now five weeks into my new job at the NEC Group and I’ve been loving learning all about our venues, with a particular focus on the beautiful city-centre venue The ICC Birmingham. Put very simply, my job is to promote not just our venues but also Birmingham as the ideal destination to host any kind of event. So, this is what I have learned: Quite simply, Birmingham is awesome. I knew that already as a Brummie but I think everyone else should too! It welcomes over 1 million international visitors each year and has a booming economy. What’s more, its central location and excellent transport links make it incredibly accessible by air, rail or car – in fact 90% of the UK’s population live within a four-hour drive of Birmingham! As for the ICC itself, it’s considered to be one of Europe’s premier conference venues and has flexible space to accommodate from 10 to 2,000+ delegates. Plus, the location is unbeatable with stunning canal views, vibrant bars and restaurants right next door, and get this: award-winning catering (think fresh, local, and seriously delicious - over 650 awards can't be wrong!). 80% of the food is sourced from local suppliers meaning it is not only fresh but environmentally friendly.
