“We have a kettle here, what on earth is that?!” ….my housemate in shock at my specialist pourover coffee kettle. I get it. I take coffee seriously. I use a Hario v60 dripper, filter papers, and a drip kettle with a slim spout makes it easier to control the amount and speed of hot water being poured. I invest time, resources and money in the process. Because the process leads to quality. I sometimes don’t though. I occasionally need something functional and faster. I get takeaway coffee or use a pod machine. And that’s ok too. It’s the same with work. (There’s a metaphor in this, this isn’t a coffee ad). You can do quicker options to get to an end result if you want something short term and functional. Or if you have the resources you invest in quality for longer term results. When working with new partners, just be honest in what you really need. You will have heard the adage: fast, cheap and good. You can only have two. I’ll never ever recommend Instant Coffee - because fast and cheap isn’t good for anyone. Friends don’t let friends drink instant coffee. PS - if you want to chat about coffee, I have all the time in the world for those conversations!

Providing engaging narration/voiceover for Healthcare/Medical, eLearning & Training videos, Phone Messaging & Audiobooks
It's true! 😊 My mug often changes based on my mood or what I have going on that day. I have one for days when I have a big project I need to knock out, one for when I need the creative juices to flow "a little extra," another for days that feel heavy or hard....you get the picture. How about you? Are you intentional in your coffee cup selection or do you just randomly grab a cup? #voiceoverlife #smallbusinessbigdreams #smallbusinessowner #faithbasedbusiness

Communication Skills (In-Person & Virtual ) Trainer & Speaker. Hired By Organisations Serious About Improving Their Persuasion, Negotiation, Influencing, Presentation & Business Development Skills
4 of 5 One must always have the right equipment when about to embark on a task. What's more, the act of collating it can become a ritual, which gets one in the zone. For me, it's...water, 🚰 tissues, 🖊 pen and notes 📒 These 4 items are my 'specialist equipment', which, when on stage with me, make me feel assured, grounded and good to go. If pressed to select only one of the quartet, it'd be water every time. For THREE reasons... ONE: you need to keep your throat lubricated. It will dry as you speak and more so if nervous. TWO: the act of picking up your glass of water, taking a drink and placing it back on a table or lectern shelf, affords you time to gather your thoughts and think about what you are going say next. THREE: pausing during a presentation is beneficial to your audience, in that it allows them time absorb what it is you've just said. It's why so many stand-up comedians take a beer 🍺 on to the stage - it gives them time to think and their audience time to laugh 🤣 and enjoy what they've just heard. #publicspeaking #presentationskills #tricres
