Meet Prajakta Mulgaonkar, Assistant General Manager, Apparels at Grasim Pulp & Fibre. Having come from the fashion apparel industry, Grasim’s workplace culture was initially uncharted territory. But, Prajakta took this as a challenge to develop her skills. Her unwavering commitment and love for experimentation fit in well at Grasim, leading to a thriving career. Prajakta shares her overall experience: “Grasim Pulp & Fibre was my gateway into the corporate world. Since I had previously worked in an unorganized sector, this was a welcome change. At first, I found it challenging to adapt to and market fibres due to my background in apparel. Yet, with dedication and positive collaboration, I learned the nuances of the products. It’s been 9 exciting years so far. My work is defined by authenticity, driving me to seek innovative projects. This vast and ever-evolving industry empowers me to think outside the box constantly. I am passionate about experimenting with new concepts, exploring the unexplored and bringing fresh ideas to the table. To me, #learning is constant. We need to keep learning at every stage — the day we think we know everything is the day our evolution and growth ends. I love challenging myself and surpassing my own benchmarks. This pushes me to never settle for good but rather go for the best. Seeing my sketched garments come to life and be worn by people is the most rewarding part of my job. My current role has given me rich exposure through various external and internal partnerships. I am not just a fashion designer — I’m a fashion leader who wishes to guide and inspire young minds.” By offering a space to experiment and empowering #careerprogression, Grasim Pulp & Fibre inspires our talent network to #BeBoldBeYou. #Grasim #employeestory #employeeexperience #employeeengagement

In a time when the Indian government is promoting “Ikat-inspired” digital prints on viscose and Lifestyle corporate like Titan Company Limited , Reliance Brands Limited, and Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. are rapidly expanding their fast fashion stores across cities, it’s crucial to revisit the importance of promoting and preserving our hand looms. I’ve often been asked why hand looms matter, and I believe it’s essential to reiterate this, especially to the younger generation who will carry our crafts and traditions forward. ✨ Hand looms are India’s identity. Over 150 countries import our handwoven textiles, making them a symbol of our rich culture and heritage. When you choose to wear hand looms, you embrace a unique identity that sets you apart. In a world where many follow the allure of western brands, wearing Indian hand looms allows you to stand out in a crowd. Being connected to our roots is vital for personal growth and fulfillment. It offers both mental and emotional satisfaction, reminding us of where we come from. As we navigate our paths, knowing our beginnings can guide us toward our future. Let’s celebrate our heritage and support our artisans. Remember where you started. Wear your culture with pride! 💖 #Handlooms #IndianHeritage #SupportLocal #CulturalIdentity

Designing Tomorrow's Trends, Today | JADEBLUE's Executive Visionary | Lead Creative at Sarus Design LLP | The Kurta Company| 99.9% Client Satisfaction
Our Honourable #primeminister Shri Narendra Modi's influence extends far beyond politics and his speeches. One impressive aspect is his art of power dressing. Modi is always dressed like a leader, whether wearing a made-to-measure extreme cold weather suit at Siachen or wearing turbans, scarves, and headgear during rallies and state visits. Clothing influences how people perceive you, whether a business owner or politician. Here's how you can also power dress and use it to your benefit: > Understand clothing as a messaging tool - Dress accordingly for occasions like interviews or pitches to convey professionalism. And also, dress for yourself, not trends, in styles that reflect your confidence. > Prioritize perfect fit over squeezing into uncomfortable sizes. > Build a capsule wardrobe with timeless power pieces like blazers, white button-downs, tailored pants, and coats. Your outfits, like Modi's, serve as non-verbal communication tools that shape perceptions. Do we see the Modi jacket getting mainstream into office wear? I feel yes. #powerdressing #narendramodi

I love this post for so many reasons. 1) Reflection - one of the most powerful tools you have for growth and development AND for self leadership 2) Celebration - we all deserve to celebrate our wins and feel good about the great work we do 3) Visibility- while it’s easy to assume everyone sees the good work that we do, they don’t. It’s OK, if not critical to our paths to share what’s going on behind the scenes 4) Inspiration - demonstrating to others what good looks like, especially females showing other females that they can achieve great things. Bravo Dana Krozek-Robinson - congratulations on your successes and for being an inspiration to us all! #leadership #reflection #inventory #celebratingsuccess #visibilitymatters #advocateforyourself #inspirationalleadership #rolemodel #demonstratewins #inspirethewe
Senior Director Product Development - Veronica Beard | Fashion industry leader bridging the gap between creative and business needs to help brands develop and produce best-selling collections
This month marks my 6-year anniversary at Veronica Beard (six ❗) When you've been at a company this long, it's easy to forget how far you've come, how much you've experienced and how much you and your team have accomplished. So I'm taking a moment to celebrate four of the biggest wins from the last 6 years: *Built from the ground up Veronica Beard's knitwear department. The time and energy it took to set up all of the systems and processes needed to seamlessly execute design/development through production might have taken a few years off my life. But I'll tell you what, I'm stronger (and smarter) for it 💪 *Grew a department of one to eight (Vee, Ashlin, soohyun, Natalia, Alina, Noriko, Laura), expanding team responsibilities to include both sweater and cut & sew knit categories 👕 *Collaborated with some very talented cross-functional teams to roll out <sing it like Ludacris> a very successful 100% cashmere program 🧶 *Somehow kept my wits about me despite an onslaught of geopolitical and Covid-related supply chain disruptions. You know what they say, "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it" 🧠 A few very special thank you's go out to Miki Takahashi and Iris Lee, who six years ago saw in me the knitwear nerd that I was and have trusted & supported me every day since. And of course, BIG love is reserved for my work ride-or-dies, my (almost) day-ones, Vee Lapnarongchai and Natalia Salazar, whose dedication and can-do attitude have been paramount to this department's success ❤️ #knitwear #fashionindustry #fashiondesign #teamwork #gratitude

TLDR: launched a new #sustainable #denim collection: https://silkrevive.co/ --- About us :) We believe in: the transformative power of sarees, #sustainability, and the strength of intergenerational connections between women Our mission is to #repurpose and upcycle donated sarees into new #apparel and #accessories, creating a unique and meaningful journey that connects women of different generations and honors the rich cultural heritage of sarees Brand story: In a world where fast fashion dominates, we felt a deep yearning to revive the beauty and stories hidden within discarded sarees. Inspired by the timeless elegance and artistry of these traditional garments, we embarked on a path to weave sustainability and intergenerational connections into every thread. Each saree carries a story. Passed down through generations, these intricately woven fabrics bear witness to the experiences, celebrations, and triumphs of women who came before us. We saw an opportunity to honor these stories, breathe new life into forgotten sarees and create something extraordinary. Our process starts with the generous donations of sarees from women who wish to see their cherished garments embark on a new journey. These sarees become the vibrant tapestry of our creations. Each piece is carefully handpicked and transformed, infusing it with new purpose and a contemporary twist. We work diligently to uphold our commitment to sustainability. By repurposing and upcycling donated sarees, we reduce textile waste and contribute to a circular fashion economy. Through meticulous craftsmanship, we ensure that the essence and legacy of each saree shines through, respecting the artisans’ labor and the memories embedded within. But we are more than just a sustainable fashion brand. We are passionate about fostering intergenerational connections between women. We believe in the power of shared stories, wisdom, and experiences that transcend time. Our creations bridge the gap between generations, enabling women to embrace and celebrate their shared heritage. With each garment and accessory we create, we honor the past while embracing the future. Our designs blend traditional techniques with contemporary styles, embracing the diversity of women’s tastes and preferences. The result is a collection that embodies elegance, uniqueness, and the spirit of empowerment. cc: Natasha S.

How does it feel to turn a distant dream into a groundbreaking reality? I’d say surreal! For many years, Première Vision, the esteemed textile trade fair, seemed like a distant #dream to me! Located in the heart of Europe, Première Vision has long been exclusive to European exhibitors, making it an elusive #goal for someone like me, based in India. The idea of an Indian exhibitor was unheard of; it was a closed market, a fortress of European exclusivity. The journey started with persistent attempts to participate. Despite seasons of silence in response to my inquiries, I persevered. I compiled a presentation highlighting our work at Creations by Shanagar, accompanied by carefully packed samples sent to the organizers. This effort bore fruit; not only was I welcomed as a visitor, but I also became the first Indian #exhibitor at Première Vision. It marked a moment of #pride and a significant breakthrough! Stepping into Première Vision as an exhibitor felt like entering a new world, surrounded by European regulars. I stood out, prompting curious looks and wondering, "Where did this guy come from?" Beyond participation, it was about breaking barriers and fostering #diversity on this elite platform. This shift marked the beginning of a new era in the #textile industry. The year 2009 witnessed a gradual opening of what was once a tightly sealed European market. Première Vision began embracing exhibitors from different corners of the world, reflecting a more inclusive and globalized industry. To this day, Creations by Shanagar continues to be an active participant in Première Vision, solidifying our position as a crucial player in the #global textile scene. Year after year, we contribute innovative designs, seamlessly blending our heritage with contemporary trends. My path to Première Vision signifies more than a personal achievement. It embodies the growing acceptance of global diversity in #fashion, recognizing that #creativity and #craftsmanship know no boundaries. Have you faced challenges breaking into a closed industry or market? Share how you navigated this journey and what you learned. I'd love to hear your stories of perseverance in the comments below. P.S. Join us at the upcoming Première Vision from February 6th to 8th! It's an exciting opportunity to experience the cultural fusion brought to life by Creations by Shanagar. We look forward to welcoming you!
